Saleh al-Arouri was a founding commander the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades - Hamas' military wing that conducted the October 7 massacre, in which more than 1200 men, women, and children were raped, tortured, and murdered and 250 more were kidnapped
In 2014, al-Arouri orchestrated the kidnapping and execution at point-blank of three Israeli teenagers - one of whom was an American citizen from New York City
In fact, this kidnapping and execution of Naftali Fraenkel - an *American* teenager - and two other Israeli teenagers in 2014 was so horrific that even then Borough President of Brooklyn, Eric Adams (@NYCMayor), saw the need to comment on it
In 2015, al-Arouri was put on the U.S. Department of State (@RFJ_US) Most Wanted List
(Remember: the U.S. acknowledges Hamas is a terrorist organization responsible for the murder of thousands of civilians, including many U.S. citizens)
Yet, it seems that some people in the U.S. see Saleh al-Arouri not as a horrible terrorist, but rather as a saint.
Here is a screenshot of a post (since deleted) by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) - a pro-Hamas organization.
Remember: WOL *operates freely in New York City*
Within Our Lifetime doesn't only support Hamas, but also enjoy terrorizing Americans.
On New Year's Day, they celebrated the fact that they were able to effectively shut down one of the busiest airports in the U.S.
(if your flight was delayed or canceled, now you know why)
So, how does Saleh al-Arouri (the second-in-command of Hamas) and Within Our Lifetime (the pro-terror organization who views him as a martyr) have to do with Students for 'Justice' in Palestine?
As you know, two pro-Hamas organizations were temporarily suspended from @Columbia - SJP and JVP.
When that happened, WOL came to their aid.
Now, JVP is promoting a call by WOL - the organization that calls terrorists "martyrs" - to 'flood the Bronx'
Let that sink in: a campus organization at @Columbia is joining forces with a pro-terror organization that celebrates the terrorist in charge of the October 7 massacre as a martyr.
This is the reality that we live in (and that @Columbia is refusing to acknowledge)
Yet, there is more....
Here is another organization at @Columbia - this time at @ColumbiaLaw (!)- that promotes the pro-Hamas organization Within Our Lifetime
... and another one, from @Columbia's medical school (@ColumbiaMed)
This can't be overstated: @Columbia has an institutional problem.
For years, @Columbia allowed pro-terror professors to preach the gospel of Hamas.
Now, it's blowing up in their face.
Jew-hatred and Israeli-hatred are just the symptoms.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of an intentional massacre of 1400 Israeli women, children, babies, and the elderly.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of the kidnapping of more than 200 Israeli civilians who, as we speak, are being held at gun point in dark cellars all across Gaza.
I am an assistant professor at Columbia Business School. I am a father, a husband, an uncle, and a son. I am a forty-year-old man, and last week I found myself crying in front of a group of complete strangers.
In a video that has since gone viral, I stood on Columbia University’s main campus and pleaded with my employer to protect me and help me protect the thousands of Jewish students whose lives and safety have been entrusted to us by worried parents all across the United States.
I pleaded with my employer to help me protect the lives of thousands of Jewish students from pro-terror student organizations who openly laud Hamas—an internationally recognized terrorist organization.
Patricia and I started off with a simple question, which evolved into something much bigger:
How do people who walk thinking that life is zero-sum navigate social hierarchies?
Across 10 studies, we found consistent and overwhelming evidence that viewing status as zero-sum (your gain is my loss) motivates people to use aggression, intimidation, and dominance techniques on their path to higher status...
