If you're still wondering whether Students for 'Justice' in Palestine (SJP) supports and sympathizes with terror, this short thread is for you.

To put it mildly, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

(again, apologies for a long but hopefully helpful thread)
To understand what makes Students for 'Justice' in Palestine a pro-terror organization, we need to start in Beirut:

Yesterday, Saleh al-Arouri - the deputy chairman of Hamas was killed in an airstrike in Lebanon

cnn.com/2024/01/02/mid…
Saleh al-Arouri was a founding commander the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades - Hamas' military wing that conducted the October 7 massacre, in which more than 1200 men, women, and children were raped, tortured, and murdered and 250 more were kidnapped
In 2014, al-Arouri orchestrated the kidnapping and execution at point-blank of three Israeli teenagers - one of whom was an American citizen from New York City

npr.org/2014/08/22/342…
Image
In fact, this kidnapping and execution of Naftali Fraenkel - an *American* teenager - and two other Israeli teenagers in 2014 was so horrific that even then Borough President of Brooklyn, Eric Adams (@NYCMayor), saw the need to comment on it

As always, don't take my word for it:

In 2015, al-Arouri was put on the U.S. Department of State (@RFJ_US) Most Wanted List

(Remember: the U.S. acknowledges Hamas is a terrorist organization responsible for the murder of thousands of civilians, including many U.S. citizens) Image
Yet, it seems that some people in the U.S. see Saleh al-Arouri not as a horrible terrorist, but rather as a saint.

Here is a screenshot of a post (since deleted) by Within Our Lifetime (WOL) - a pro-Hamas organization.

Remember: WOL *operates freely in New York City* Image
Within Our Lifetime doesn't only support Hamas, but also enjoy terrorizing Americans.

On New Year's Day, they celebrated the fact that they were able to effectively shut down one of the busiest airports in the U.S.

(if your flight was delayed or canceled, now you know why) Image
So, how does Saleh al-Arouri (the second-in-command of Hamas) and Within Our Lifetime (the pro-terror organization who views him as a martyr) have to do with Students for 'Justice' in Palestine?

*Remember: WOL is SJP rebranded*

Yet, there is more.

As you know, two pro-Hamas organizations were temporarily suspended from @Columbia - SJP and JVP.

When that happened, WOL came to their aid.

Now, JVP is promoting a call by WOL - the organization that calls terrorists "martyrs" - to 'flood the Bronx' Image
Let that sink in: a campus organization at @Columbia is joining forces with a pro-terror organization that celebrates the terrorist in charge of the October 7 massacre as a martyr.

This is the reality that we live in (and that @Columbia is refusing to acknowledge)
Yet, there is more....

Here is another organization at @Columbia - this time at @ColumbiaLaw (!)- that promotes the pro-Hamas organization Within Our Lifetime Image
... and another one, from @Columbia's medical school (@ColumbiaMed) Image
This can't be overstated: @Columbia has an institutional problem.

For years, @Columbia allowed pro-terror professors to preach the gospel of Hamas.

Now, it's blowing up in their face.

Jew-hatred and Israeli-hatred are just the symptoms.

In sum:

(1) al-Arouri - a high ranking terrorist on the U.S. Most Wanted listed and who is responsible for the Oct. 7 massacre...

(2) ...is celebrated by Within Our Lifetime (which is basically SJP) as a "martyr"...

(3) ...who are then supported by organizations at @Columbia
Why is this important (beyond the fact that there are pro-Hamas organization at @Columbia)?

Because, unless @Columbia bans them for good, the temporary suspension of SJP and JVP will end in 2 weeks.

We cannot let that happen.
The evidence is overwhelming:

(1) SJP and JVP are pro-Hamas - a terror organization responsible for the murder of American civilians.

(2) SJP and JVP have repeatedly violated the terms of their suspension

(3) SJP and JVP use calls for violence that violate school policy
As always, if you've made it this far, please share this thread as widely as you can: retweet, email your friends, send it on WhatsApp.

@Columbia only cares about PR. So, let's make sure the world knows about this.
This is the only way we'll be able to force @Columbia to permanently remove SJP and JVP from campus.

U.S. campuses have been terrorized by pro-Hamas protests, primarily led by Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine.

To understand these protests, one must look at who’s behind this organization.

Three words: Follow the money.

(Sorry for the long thread. I promise: it’s worth it)
If you want to understand what makes Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine (SJP) a pro-terror organization, I recommend that you start here:

Before I begin, one thing must be made clear:

The vast majority of Muslims and Palestinians oppose Hamas.

SJP's violent actions and rhetoric clearly do not represent every Palestine or Muslim person.

There is no excuse for Islamophobia or any kind of xenophobia.

Many people are wondering about what’s happening on U.S. campuses.

While I can’t speak about all other college campuses, I can definitely give you an insider’s view about @Columbia University.

(this thread may be a bit long, but trust me: it's worth it)
At @Columbia, the pro-Hamas protests have been primarily led by Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine (SJP).
Before I begin, one thing needs to be made clear:

I have never spoken against any @Columbia student nor have I ever called for the ‘doxxing’ of our students.

My problem is the pro-terror *organizations* that are operating on @Columbia’s campus.

To the silent majority:

I think we need to talk about your silence.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of an intentional massacre of 1400 Israeli women, children, babies, and the elderly.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of the kidnapping of more than 200 Israeli civilians who, as we speak, are being held at gun point in dark cellars all across Gaza.

Parents, separated from their babies.

Babies, separated from their parents.

I am an assistant professor at Columbia Business School. I am a father, a husband, an uncle, and a son. I am a forty-year-old man, and last week I found myself crying in front of a group of complete strangers.
In a video that has since gone viral, I stood on Columbia University’s main campus and pleaded with my employer to protect me and help me protect the thousands of Jewish students whose lives and safety have been entrusted to us by worried parents all across the United States.
I pleaded with my employer to help me protect the lives of thousands of Jewish students from pro-terror student organizations who openly laud Hamas—an internationally recognized terrorist organization.

My new paper (w/ the incredible Patricia Andrews Fearon) is out now at JEP:G!

And, as the kids say, a thread...

psycnet.apa.org/record/2022-89…

Patricia and I started off with a simple question, which evolved into something much bigger:

How do people who walk thinking that life is zero-sum navigate social hierarchies?
Across 10 studies, we found consistent and overwhelming evidence that viewing status as zero-sum (your gain is my loss) motivates people to use aggression, intimidation, and dominance techniques on their path to higher status...
