I have many followers who do not follow the Ukrainian war closely, so allow me to give you a brief description of the current situation: Putin is racing against time to finish this war, and he has resorted to using every weapon he has to achieve this. Namely propaganda.
Propaganda has become his primary tool to win. This propaganda is attempting to achieve several things:

1: to breed apathy in western nations
2: to highlight discontent in all nations (even russia)
3: to divide the Ukrainian people
The goal of his propaganda is to not only give up on Ukraine, but to give up on yourself and your own nation. To crush your morale, to make you feel helpless, and to push you to disengage. He wants you to succumb to tribalism and populism.
In order to understand the war in Ukraine, you must fully understand and recognize that, yes you personally, are being used as a pawn to fight this war. Whether you like it or not. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, you are part of this.
Putin has been partially successful in this mission. The American congress has fallen into corrupt partisanship. Other nations in Europe have done the same. But it has not been completely successful, the majority of people still support Ukraine, as do key members of the EU.
On the ground, in Ukraine, things are difficult. There are shortages of basically everything. Ammo, vehicles, medical supplies, etc. But the relative weakness of the Russian military has limited its ability to capitalize.
Frankly speaking, the Ukrainian government and military made a large number of political and military blunders in 2023, many of which continue to have serious consequences going forward. Issues like ammunition supply, mishandling of mobilization, etc.
But, again, Russia is too weak to capitalize. They launched a large scale offensive in October which promised huge results, and has accomplished next to nothing. They captured the small city of Marinka, which they’ve been assaulting since 2014, and had already controlled over 90%
They’ve put pressure on Ukrainian supply lines and logistics near Avdiivka, they captured some treelines and fields here and there. They’ve closed in on the small village of Novomykhailivka. But, ultimately, they’ve suffered catastrophic casualties with no success
Ukraine has, and continues, to stymy the Russian military. In the face of being massively outnumbered and outgunned. Ukraine is now entering a period of attrition, where their primary goal is, and should remain, the destruction of Russian offensive potential.
And for this, Ukraine requires ammo. Really, supplying ammo is the least we can do. When we, all of us, are being directly attacked by Russia. Maybe not with bombs, but with propaganda, with derision, with hate being injected into our societies.
With the hate being injected into our societies, with the authoritarian leadership around the world coalescing into a single axis. Russia, North Korea, Iran, China. All working together to damage and topple our peaceful way of life
Suppling ammunition is the least we can do. The cheapest thing we can do. A few billion dollars worth of ammo will make an enormous difference. And it is nothing to us, as a society. We’re talking 3 or 4 dollars per tax payer, to destroy a common enemy who seeks to destroy us.

Guys, Russia releases more FPV footage than Ukraine. Stop spreading this horse shit that they don't. What, you only look at footage that contains vehicles? That's a you problem, not a problem with the data.
What, you only look at footage that is geolocated? Again, that's a you problem, not a problem with the data.
If you actually think Ukraine releases more footage than Russia, its because you're looking at biased content. Full stop. Its just not true, russia releases more.

🤨😐🫤😕😞😖😫

Ukraine needs, minimum, 1 million mortar rounds per month. This is bare minimum to conduct their necessary combat operations. Realistically, 10-12 million would be the necessary amount. Per month.
The failure to provide this many rounds isn’t only an issue for Ukraine, its an issue for every country. How does any NATO country plan on supplying their own country in a war if they cannot produce this many rounds? Is NATO even prepared to fight a ground war at all?
Producing mortar ammo should be the absolute barest of bare minimums for any military. On the same tier as producing rifle ammo and hand grenades.

Watching the cluster bombs Russia now drops is infuriating to me. It highlights the failure of the west to supply the necessary air defense and deterrence, and it shows how the west is constantly escalating this war by refusing to supply these weapons.
Air defense for cities is nice, I guess. But air defense for the military matters more. This means fighter jets. And it means deterrance. By deterrence, I mean long range missiles that can strike deep into Russia and destroy their air force. Failing to supply this is escalatory.
The people who claim they want peace should be the ones clamoring the loudist to supply Ukraine with as many long range weapons as possible as quickly as possible to destroy every single russian air base within Russia. Certainly all of them west of the Urals.

I am writing this in the interest of those who have not followed this story today.

Yesterday, there was a rocket strike reported in Zarichne, which is near Komyshuvakha which is southeast of Zaporizhzia. I marked it on my map yesterday. Image
This is approximately 18km from the front line. Image
Yesterday, this is what I saw reported.

I have been saying this all year, every since January, and even before then: Ukraine should not perform any major offensive actions until Russia is sufficiently attritted in terms of armored equipment and artillery.
What is the purpose of defense?

Is it to hold onto land? NO
Is it to hold a position? NO

The purpose of defense is to create the conditions necessary for a successful offensive.
You should not leave a defensive stance until and unless you can perform a successful offensive operation. This year, and I mean at literally any part of this year, Ukraine was never in any position for a successful offensive operation, and they never should have attempted one

I was tracking a lot of other stuff today putting off reading the news because I knew how awful of a day it was. I knew Zaporizhzhia was hit by six missiles. But in my hiding from news, I had no idea the full extent of how depressing the day was..
There were dozens of airstrikes throughout Kherson oblast, killing numerous civilians. Six bombs were dropped on Novoberyslav, where a 63 year old man died from the blast. Five more hit Kozatske. At least one hit Vesele.

I'm told six hit olhivka. I could geolocate 4 of them, but the other 2 were exceptionally low quality video. There were stirkes on Prydniprovske and between Prydniprovske and Pishchanivka (which excited people who yell of Ukrainian river crossings).
