Cameron says Israel has not shown intent to commit genocide. False. Israeli leaders have made genocidal comments ever since 7 October. The UK has not called them out. They are terrifying, even more so given what Israel has and is doing to Palestinians in Gaza. A small selection of a few of the hundreds of quotes follows. No Israeli Minister has been sacked.
Many Israeli leaders stated there are no innocent Palestinians in Gaza - Israeli President Herzog: “It’s an entire nation out there that is responsible. This rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved, it’s absolutely not true. They could’ve risen up, they could have fought against that evil regime"
Many Israeli leaders have referred to Palestinians as animals - Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant: “We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly,” huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/israel-d…
Israeli army Major General Ghassan Alian : “Human animals must be treated as such. There will be no electricity and no water [in Gaza], there will only be destruction. You wanted hell, you will get hell.” timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry…
Sara Netanyahu, the powerful wife of the Prime Minister fumed: "I really hope that our revenge, that of the State of Israel, on the cruel enemy - will be a very big revenge. I don't call them human animals because that would be insulting to animals…"
Many describe Palestinians as Nazis -
Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich "2 million Nazis are sitting in Gaza"
“We’re fighting Nazis,” declared Naftali Bennett, a former prime minister.
Prime Minister Netanyahu: “You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible — we do remember,” referring to the ancient enemy of the Israelites, interpreted by scholars as a call to exterminate their “men and women, children and infants.” nytimes.com/2023/11/15/wor…
‘Burn Gaza now, nothing less’ said Nissim Vaturi, deputy speaker of the Israeli parliament.
And nuclear weapons use has also been threatened. Israel's Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu said that dropping a nuclear weapon on the Gaza Strip is "an option." He added: "there are no non-combatants in Gaza" haaretz.com/israel-news/20…
Another Israeli Minister Nir Barkat said Israel should be praised for not using a nuclear weapon. "When the US dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, they wanted to end the war. We don't do that. We are considerate of the Palestinian people"
Many Israeli Ministers advance ethnic cleansing of Gaza - Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir: "Encouraging the residents of Gaza to emigrate is a solution we must advance”
Israel Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: "If we act strategically they will emigrate and we will live there. We won't let 2 million stay. With 100-200K in Gaza, the 'day after' debate will be different."
Israeli agriculture minister, Avi Dichter, said that the military campaign in Gaza was explicitly designed to force the mass displacement of Palestinians. “We are now rolling out the Gaza nakba,” he said in a television interview. “Gaza nakba 2023.”
Many Ministers advance the recolonisation of Gaza: Israeli Minister Gideon Sa'ar said that the Gaza Strip “must be smaller at the end of the war....Whoever starts a war against Israel must lose territory.”
On the imposition of a total siege of Gaza Israeli Energy Minister Yisrael Katz said that “no electric switch will be turned on, no water tap will be opened, and no fuel truck will enter until the kidnapped Israelis return to their homes”. timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry…

Reflecting on powerful @Caabu@MedicalAidPal@AmnestyUK Parliamentary delegation to West Bank last week. Thanks to Flick Drummond MP, @SeemaMalhotra1, @AnumSNP@Lord_Collins for coming. Vital to see the lived experience of Palestinians living under occupation & discrimination
In Jerusalem, the rate of demolitions of Palestinian homes is at highest rate in years. Met families in Sheikh Jarrah under threat of forcible eviction. One family had to share their property with settlers. Had little faith that international law would be applied.
In Silwan, in occupied E Jerusalem, thousands of homes are under threat from the extremist settler organisation Elad. In Bustan, one section of Silwan we heard from residents – representatives of 85 families all at risk.
