Important Context:
Today I'm seeing a lot of people regurgitating IRGC media reports that the IRIS ALBORZ has been sent to the Red Sea and that this is escalation all the IRGC media outlets did today was publicly announced previously reported on media of the ship already being in the Red Sea. Also it is not the only ship. Along with the fact this ship has been in the Red Sea for a month, this is old news.
IRIN has as part of the 94th fleet the following ships in the Red Sea since early December 2023.
IRIS ALBORZ (72)
IRIS BUSHEHR (422)
IRGCN has the following ship in the Red Sea and has hardly moved from

MV BEHSHAD which is a known IRGCN Forward Base Ship which acts as an offshore surveillance, command & liaison base by Iranian forces operating in the Red Sea, providing actionable intelligence and targeting data to the Houthi Rebels.
IRIN and IRGCN have long held naval presence in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. This is nothing new at all.
From Iranian media specifically khabaronline during Maritime day celebration December 10
Quote
"Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Strategic Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also explained the operational, political and international dimensions of the 86th Fleet (around the world) and the video link with the 94th Fleet (Alborz destroyer) sent to the Red Sea... This ship has been deployed for almost a month it didn't arrive today."
As for some information about Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN) deployments to the red sea over the past 6 months.
IRIS Sahand (74) deployed to the Red Sea early June 2023 and returned to Iran on Sep 9, 2023.
IRIS Jamaran (76) deployed to the Red Sea Gulf of Aden IVO September 1 and returned to Iran on December 7th.
IRIS Alborz (72) replaced IRIS Jamaran between December 1 and 7th and has been in the Red Sea for almost a month.
Tasmin News Agency is a propaganda channel of the IRGC and has a very long history of using "alternative facts" and are not a trustworthy source to rely on.
Questions I would pose to you to ponder.
Why would Islamic Republic of Iran want to circulate incorrect information on ship positioning?
Why now would they make press statements about IRIN ships in the red sea despite announcing the ship already deployed a month ago?
How are they trying to frame or shape the information sphere?
Other updates:
I have made a new infographic on Houthi missile, drone, boat interceptions that will be regularly updated and will be attached to future threads with these maps.

@mhmiranusa and @TBrit90 have also been tracking and talking about this ship for the past month. The IRIS ALBORZ is very likely the Iranian warship mentioned in the radio communication published by the war zone in late December.

A lot of fake news is coming out in the last 25 minutes regarding a potential attack on USS Carney.
Approximately 30 minutes ago the US Navy posted a tweet talking about photos of the day which I will attached below. One of those photos of the day is over the weekend of the USS Carney firing SM2 missiles at Houthi drones and missiles. Iranian propaganda channels within 5 minutes. Started posting that the ship had been attacked.
From there within 7 minutes after the US Navy made their photo of the day post it started showing up on open source intelligence channels and in Twitter spaces purporting and alleged attack.
This is highly likely a case of circular reporting. Twitter is reporting Iranian propaganda channels and Iranian propaganda channels are basing their misinformation on the photo of the day by the US Navy.
