I apologize for my language in advance, but this is something we can't keep in anymore.
The Presidents of @Columbia University and @BarnardCollege don't give a fuck about their Jewish and Israeli students, faculty, or staff.
(a short thread to explain this strong statement)
@BarnardCollege and @Columbia invited Hatem Bazian to lead a "day of dialogue".
This is like inviting David Duke to teach about racial tolerance.
This man is the most antisemitic professor in the U.S.
He founded the pro-terror SJP and runs the Hamas-linked AMP.
Here's a clip of Hatem Bazian calling for an armed uprising in the U.S., just like the one in Iraq
This is the person that @Columbia invited to lead a "day of dialogue"
Bazian’s violent antisemitic rhetoric has been known to the University of California system and @UCBerkeley
for at least six years, and they have chosen to do nothing about it
This is the person that @Columbia invited to lead a "day of dialogue"
He was a frequent speaker for a now-defunct organization that was found liable for fundraising for Hamas.
You read that right: @BarnardCollege is hosting a man who has fundraised for Hamas
This is the person that @Columbia invited to lead a "day of dialogue"
Dr. Osama Abuirshaid - the Executive Director at Bazian's current organization (which is under investigation for its terror links) has contributed to the website of Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of Hamas.
Hatem Bazian has impersonated being a Jew multiple times.
This is so incredibly offensive and antisemitic.
This is the person that @Columbia invited to lead a "day of dialogue"
Is this man the best that @Columbia and @BarnardCollege can do?
@Columbia University is either unwilling or unable to protect its Jewish and Israeli students, faculty, and staff
I personally didn't feel safe going to campus today.
To understand why, see below.
(A thread of with alarming videos)
Very short background:
- Students for "Justice" in Palestine (SJP) has explicitly expressed support for Hamas and called for violence in their protests
- They have repeatedly broken the terms of their suspension
- @Columbia has done nothing about it
Today, SJP broke their suspension (again) by organizing a protest to support Hamas and the Houthis (the terror organization that's shooting missiles at *American* ships)
The President of @Columbia refuses to enforce the rules of the university
For three months, I've raised the alarm about pro-terror organizations on U.S. campuses.
I've said this from the very beginning: this isn't about Israel or Palestine.
This is about supporting terrorism.
Now the SJP is going after the U.S.
(a long but informative thread)
Last week, in response to repeated attacks on American ships by the Houthis (a terrorist organization that controls western Yemen) the U.S. army responded with a targeted attack of the organization's targets.
Saleh al-Arouri was a founding commander the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades - Hamas' military wing that conducted the October 7 massacre, in which more than 1200 men, women, and children were raped, tortured, and murdered and 250 more were kidnapped
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of an intentional massacre of 1400 Israeli women, children, babies, and the elderly.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of the kidnapping of more than 200 Israeli civilians who, as we speak, are being held at gun point in dark cellars all across Gaza.
