Before you make judgments, call me a Pharisee (like actors on the show have) & call this “friendly fire”, I want you to know that I watched The Chosen when it first came out. I was supportive at first and was thankful a Christian show (especially one about the Bible & Jesus Christ) was made, seemingly so, of the highest quality. After years and years of cheesy, low-quality Christian content, I thought this was a net positive even though I had a healthy skepticism from the start.
Now, before I provide a loving, Biblical warning, I want to acknowledge that God can use anything for His good. I acknowledge, like I have before, The Chosen has lit a spark and shined a light in its own way. Through the providential will of God, He has allowed this show to be created, distributed and be viewed in front of millions of people across the world.
It’s definitely inspired viewers to read the Bible, go to church & have more conversations about Christ and The Gospel.
BUT… I believe that to be the work of God not necessarily because the show has been faithful to Jesus Christ & His Word. And just because God uses a show, a preacher, a “revival” event, parachurch ministry or conversation with someone for His good, doesn’t mean that the deliverer of that message is to be followed from that point on…
I know someone who was saved by Christ and the spark that lit their spiritual fire was randomly turning on the tv and Joel Osteen was on. Now that person is in a faithful church and hearing sound doctrine every week. While they would recognize how God used Osteen to perform His saving work, they don’t suggest people financial support or engage with Osteen’s false teachings.
With that said, I hope you use what I provide you in this thread as a helpful tool so you can have solid, Biblical discernment to decide, for yourself, if this show is worth your time and/or money.
The main issue with the Chosen:
If viewers believe The Bible is sufficient, authoritative and inerrant, (as every faithful Christian should), you should filter every bit of the show through Scripture. Yes, even behind the scenes. That’s the best way to use discernment and have wisdom graciously provided by the Holy Spirit to decide whether this show is proper to watch.
I’ll be discussing how the show displays a different Christ and gospel - doing that under “church unity” with cults like Mormonism and other faiths like Roman Catholicism.
I’ll be including timestamps from this incredibly well-done video explaining these issues:
Here are some quotes in The Chosen that I believe contradict the Bible:
- Chosen’s Jesus says “I am the Law of Moses” which preaches a different gospel & seemingly aligns with 2 Nephi (Book of Mormon) and not The Bible (59:44)
- Chosen’s Jesus refuses to be worshipped (example of more Mormon theology) & tells a religious leader to follow his heart… (51:57)
- The Chosen’s Jesus supposedly quotes Luke 5:32, but omits the word repentance and simply says he is “calling sinners” (49:35)
- Chosen’s Jesus asks Matthew for help with his sermon (56:42) as if God in the flesh would need any help whatsoever with preaching the Word.
- The uses modern day progressive language “Love is Love” ()
- the show insinuates that Jesus transgressed aka sinned ()
The Chosen preaches a different gospel & portrays a different Jesus so it definitely doesn’t “honor the authentic Jesus”. It’s watered down like the He Gets Us campaigns littering our televisions and billboards…
Also, “in a behind-the-scenes interview, the show is described as a "multi-lane highway for relationships with Jesus” (for this reason, the show is inclusive of homosexuals, atheists, Catholics, and mystics for their writers, actors, and crew.) The Bible says that narrow is the way leads to life, and broad is the way to destruction. There is no multi-lane highway to Christ.”

Outside of Dallas Jenkins arrogantly gaslighting financial supporters, faithful viewers (22:21) & Christians who expressed concern about its Mormon influence & especially the Pride flag controversy (2:22), I believe these quotes from Jenkins are extremely concerning:
“...the people who only want to read the Bible won’t be watching [The Chosen].”
“Mormons and Christian believe in the same Jesus” (see video)
"Our intentions are different from the Bible's intentions"
When speaking to the Pride flag controversy, justifying its display and promotion, “… it’s just a 3-inch pride flag” (27:24)
Dallas controls the direction of the show & has allowed LGBTQ to be promoted and is responsible for the different Jesus & gospel presented (23:22)
Dallas Jenkins also said that I, and other Christians who have expressed concern are “what’s wrong with Christianity today”
The LGBTQ issue:
Virtually every actor portraying a disciple & even Jonathan Roumie (Jesus) is LGBTQ affirming
- Multiple actors portraying disciples tell faithful Christians who stand by marriage between one man and one woman & against the Pride flag on display, to leave & not watch The Chosen (12:13)
- Jonathan Roumie (Jesus) has platformed & promoted progressive, pro-LGBTQ priests (7:40)
- Dallas Jenkins & the show’s official social media account defended a symbol (Pride flag) which is in diabolical opposition to the “authentic Jesus” and His Word
The Chosen saying they’re “not a ministry” issue:
The Chosen claims to not be a ministry (as said by Dallas Jenkins) but they sell:
- Chosen devotionals and even provide “sermon outlines” (36:38) that gives pastors/churches direction on how to preach/disciple based off clips from the show and filtering the Bible through The Chosen instead of the other way around…

An Alistair Begg & The Chosen situational comparison:
I’m not saying that The Chosen and Alistair Begg are the same. I believe Alistair to be a faithful Shepard but if we use that comparison… multiple conferences and media outlets have suspended or uninvited Alistair Begg because he has refused to repent & acknowledge the error of advising a grandmother to attend a LGBTQ “wedding”.
I believe the same standard should be held for a show that refuses to repent & acknowledge the error of their ways.
Finally, I don’t look down upon anyone that still watches the show and I definitely never expected Christians to all agree with the way The Chosen should be/was presented, but I hope this serves as a loving, Biblical warning to, at very least, think critically about engaging with and/or financially supporting this series.
God bless you all. Please keep praying for Dallas Jenkins and everyone involved with this production.

force a refresh
First off, (I know these tweets don’t represent ALL conservatives but there’s a substantial amount that agree with) these irrational, clickbait tweets…
This just shows you didn’t watch the games or know football AT ALL…
PS: Everything is not a psyop…
The playoffs were not “rigged” for Kansas City…
After a lackluster regular season (for their standards), the Chiefs have arguably been the best defense in the playoffs, Mahomes continues to be one of the best QBs of all time, Coach Reid & much of this team is battle-tested with plenty of playoff experience and deserved to win EVERY game.
In my interview with cardiologist & #Bills fan @P_McCulloughMD, he explains his initial reaction to the Damar Hamlin collapse & why he believes commotio cordis is not the correct diagnosis
This is the most thorough breakdown of the Damar Hamlin situation you find from @P_McCulloughMD. I appreciate him joining me for this important discussion.
Things we need to know about Damar Hamlin’s collapse & treatment (A THREAD)
Why is commotio cordis the most talked about diagnosis ?
It’s extremely rare, 99.9% of the time it involves blunt force with a projectile (baseball, hockey puck, etc). There’s seemingly no evidence that this has happened in football.
How long did it take for medical personnel to check Damar Hamlin’s pulse & restart his heart through CPR?
That can tell us a lot about Damar’s potential brain function
ESPN’s Outlines The Lines just had cardiologists on. Their first diagnosis of Damar Hamlin was Commotio Cordis, mentioning even though theres only 15 cases a year & there may by no record of that in football. CC almost always caused by blunt force trauma of projectiles like ⚾️🏒
The only other possible reasons they provided for why Damar Hamlin collapsed was Arrhythmogenic Right ventricular dysplasia and…
The last diagnosis the cardiologists provided for why Damar Hamlin collapsed outside commotio cordis, was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
