It's setting you up for chronic disease and stealing your future with your children.
Here's 11 ways it's slowly killing you and how you can stop it in its tracks:
1) Abdominal fat
Fat isn't created equal. Visceral fat (beer belly) is the most dangerous. It's fat packed around your organs that releases hormones/proteins that create inflammation.
Over time this increases your risk of:
-Stroke
-Cancer
-Diabetes
-Dementia
-Heart attack
2) Insulin resistance
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas. Poor diet/exercise and abdominal fat limit insulin from moving sugar from the blood into cells.
Over time, your body becomes less responsive to insulin. The pancreas can't keep up and you've become a diabetic.
I've completed 10 Ironmans and treated over 3,000 patients over the past 10 years.
Here's every fitness tip I could think of:
1) Kids will only move as much as their parents do.
2) Train your diaphragm. It is the most underrated and underutilized muscle you have. 3) Your core has little to do with your 6 pack muscles. 4) A focused 45 minute workout is more productive than 2 hours with no structure.
5) Establish a full range of motion before you start building strength. 6) Weight train for your metabolism. 7) Do cardio for your mental health. 8) Walk for your longevity.
1) The nutrient density of red meats and eggs are unmatched. Anyone telling you otherwise isn't interested in your health.
2) Build a relationship with a local farmer/rancher. It will save you money and do more for your health than any doctor.
3) The best time to eat carbs is around workouts. Your muscles deplete stored sugar (glycogen) and do the job of insulin after exercise to sponge up blood sugar.
