🔴 #Trump spoke of abandoning #NATO first time in Sept 1987, two months after his first visit to #Moscow on the invitation of Intourist, the Soviet cover for intelligence operations.

He bought full-page ads in the NYT, WaPo, Boston Globe for $94,801.

Since 1978, Trump has been followed by the Communist secret services.  Ivana Zelníčková, Trump’s first wife, was under the Czechoslovak security service surveillance, the Státní Bezpečnost (StB). Ivana’s father Miloš Zelníček, was also monitored by the StB.

The StB formally cooperated with the USSR’s KGB and other Soviet bloc intelligence agencies.

In 1977, an informant with the cover name “Lubos” reported on Trump’s company.

In 1986, Yuri Dubinin, the USSR Ambassador to the US, and his daughter engaged Trump in a conversation about the possibility of building a Moscow hotel in partnership with the Soviet government.

Trump traveled to the USSR in 1987 by invitation of the Goskomintourist (Intourist) which worked with:

->the 1st Main Directorate of KGB, (intelligence & the KGB’s foreign operations (recruited visiting foreigners)
5
->the 2nd Main Directorate (counterintelligence: surveillance of tourists, diplomats, foreign students, black market dealings involving foreigners, etc.)

Trump stayed at the closely monitored hotels, and negotiated a luxury hotel downtown Moscow with Moscow authorities.

During the visit, “he met with a lot of the economic and financial advisers in the Politburo,” said Trump’s spokesman Dan Klores at the time.

Two months after the visit, in Sept 1987, Trump bought full-page ads in the NYT, WaPo, Boston Globe ($94,801) to push the idea that the US should stop paying to defend countries that can afford to protect themselves.

On October 21, 1988, a source with the cover name “Milos” reported that Trump was being put under pressure to run for the US presidency. The archives revealed that Trump was supposedly considering a presidential run in the 1996 elections, convinced he would win.

An unclassified CIA memo “Soviet Efforts to Recruit American Citizens” on Soviet Approaches to U.S. citizens, 1988: “American citizens are high priority targets for recruitment by the Soviet Union’s intelligence services...

...The Soviets are especially interested in Americans who occupy important positions in the fields of government, military service, business and finance, science and technology, industry, and academic resorts."

Putin, a KGB agent in Dresden 1985-1990, supervised Stasi, the Eastern German secret police, and studied Dresden residents' applications for visits by relatives from the West, searching for contacts near the US bases of interest.

12
In 1995, Trump lost $916 million according to his 1995 income tax returns. In Nov 1996, Howard Lorber and Ben LeBow brought Trump to Moscow and arranged discussions about a joint venture between their Liggett-Ducat tobacco factory, Trump Organization, and the city of Moscow.

13
Despite the apparent financial crisis, during the week of Nov 6, 1996, Trump negotiated $300 million in investments in Moscow, and met with two of Moscow’s vice mayors. The city was “very receptive” to the idea of Trump’s developments in Moscow.

I will stop here on Trump's 30 years of connections with Russia and the KGB/FSB as we are talking specifically about his #NATO quote.

A refresher was in place. All the details and sources here:

ps. Apologies for delays, we are under shelling. #Kherson. The thought that the KGB asset can come to power in the US is scarier than Russian artillery, though. I first published it in 2018 as no publication will do it. In 2019, @BylineTimes did. 🙏bylinetimes.com/2019/11/13/rus…

#Putin Tonight, you'll be served a #Kremlin narrative aimed at

-> normalizing war crimes and mafia state,
-> glorifying a mass murderer

Here are a few facts from Putin's actual bio. 🧵

Forewarned is forearmed. Image
#Putin's official bio is a myth: rags to riches through education and state service.

Reality: he was formed by early exposure to violence and crime.

His judo coach, Usvyatsov: a criminal authority, a gang member. His gravestone epitaph: "I'm dead, but mafia is immortal." Image
Usvyatsov secured Putin's admission to Leningrad State University's prestigious Law Faculty based on 'sports merit.'

Athletic merit in the USSR meant low expectations and relaxed academic requirements. Athletes were helped with exams and grades.

🧵In 2017, Russian state media reported a fake story:

#Putin Birthday Burger served in a NY restaurant.

Goal: normalize Putin’s crimes; glorify him by faking respect and recognition on a global scale.

In 2024, #TuckerCarlson serves the US a Putin Nothing Burger.

Method: Image
1. A false claim/story produced.
2. Circulated on SM. Bots/trolls push #s to trending
3. MSM reports it
4. Many outlets echo
5. A public discussion ensues. Experts, prominent public figures, laymen join in with opinions, repeating the story until it becomes common knowledge...
5. A negative (or positive) emotional response is formed after a certain number of repetitions.

Result: The individuals or groups, targeted by the propagandist, compromised or glorified.

If/when the fake is debunked, the associations stay. It is an irrational reaction.

🚨🚨🚨Kremlin trolls’ activity: unprecedented high after a short break.

They masquerade as authentic X users; gaslight; amplify disnfo; confuse; etc

Time for a refresher on their tactics: #Kremlin propaganda playbook. 🧵w @BylineTimes

1. Pushing Kremlin Narratives
The Kremlin has been working  on creating a new “post-Western world order” narrative (Western countries and institutions no longer enjoying the same amount of power and influence they once did.
Major Kremlin narratives include negative narratives:

->anti-elite,
->anti-EU,
->anti-NATO,
->promoting a danger discourse (the rising extremist, migrant and Islamic terrorism threat)

and positive narratives:

->Russia and Putin as saviours of traditional values.

🚨 Kremlin's hybrid war targets Western democracies.

Thread focus: mind war countermeasures. Individual and collective defense.

In-depth analysis of the hybrid war/mind war: Parts 1, 2.

Art by @LuluLemew Image
Individual Defense:

→Think critically
→ Think before acting
→Analyze the information source. Check references. Check the title and affiliation of the media, the date of publication; author’s bio
→Educate yourself on the basics of propaganda, brainwashing, and mass psychology
→ Do not watch or share the Kremlin mass media/affiliates (RT, Sputnik, etc)

→Educate others by forewarning and delivering information about the agents of the Kremlin influence to prevent the US audience from being brainwashed.

First impressions matter.

Part 2. 🧵Mind war in a nutshell:

A red spider wasp paralyzes a spider by injecting poison; lays an egg inside of it.

The spider’s vital organs are still working. It is alive but can’t move.

The egg hatches and the larva eats the spider from the inside out.

The adversary corrupts minds slowly and inconspicuously.

It injects myths and narratives into the public information space.

It contaminates individual & collective minds.

The attacked country is paralyzed.

The adversary takes over.

Russia wages a mind war against West.
A human mind operates in stories and narratives. Human behavior can be programmed through stories.

The adversary plants narratives into the collective mind.

Narratives vary depending on the political situation. Similar types of myths are created in Russia and the West.

From Texas to Ukraine, from Middle
East to Africa, we are facing the geopolitical game played by the old KGB playbook—and again and again, the Western democracies are blind to it.

Insanity is repeating the same action and expect a different result…

Thread on hybrid war 1/xx Image
Since 1999, a criminal government, headed by Putin, runs Russia as a mafia state. By 2018, a conglomerate of officials, security forces and organized crime has consolidated power and took under control all aspects of political and social life.
Its wealth generates from appropriating the national natural resources, mainly oil, gas and diamonds, as well as the major assets. Each year, the Kremlin siphoned out of Russia, laundered and stored in the Western banks and offshores an estimated 40–50 billion dollars.
