If you're going to worship a dictator, you must then worship the dictatorship. MAGA adoration of autocrats like Orbán and dictators like Putin may begin with "we need a strongman in America" but it logically progresses to advocating advocating for despotism. 1/5
Tucker is a propagandist, and the comparisons to Western leftists from Duranty to Bernie to Michael Moore visiting the USSR & Cuba in gullible awe are fine. But this is a concrete campaign on behalf of Putin's murderous dictatorship, not credulous ideology. 2/5
He's babbling about pretty subway stations and a nice supermarket in the imperial capital of a brutal dictatorship with no individual freedom or civil society that is actively waging war on a neighbor. It's like saying how clean the bathrooms are on the Death Star.
After his fawning & ignorant interview with Putin, I offered to debate Tucker so the truth might reach some of the MAGA stooges doing the Kremlin's work in blocking US aid to Ukraine. But now the agenda is clear and the only debate is if they are corrupt, treasonous, or both. 4/5
It's a war. Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the front line, but it extends to every aspect of the free world vs authoritarians. Trump & the GOP have picked a side. Propagandists like Tucker & Musk have picked a side. It is not the side of America or freedom, and they know it. 5/5
The depravity of an American pretending to envy life in Putin's collapsing gulag state, & the history of such spectacles, has been covered. I will simply ask how many educated people move to Putin's Russia vs how many leave?
Even Russia's abysmal standard of living numbers are inflated by oligarchs at the top of some of the worst income inequality in the world. Moscow & St. Petersburg have always been gilded cages the Kremlin tries to insulate from the poverty & deterioration of the rest of Russia.

Putin tried and failed to murder Navalny quickly and secretly with poison, and now he has murdered him slowly and publicly in prison. He was killed for exposing Putin and his mafia as the crooks and thieves they are. My thoughts are with the brave man's wife and children.
Putin is Navalny's killer, make no mistake, but there is blame enough to share. First, the Russians who failed to match Alexei's courage to end Putin's dictatorship and war. Some of us tried, and he marched with us in numbers that seem a fantasy now. But it wasn't enough.
My rage and eternal scorn toward the Western politicians who treated Navalny's poisoning and jailing as just another negotiating point with Putin, as they did the murder of another friend, Boris Nemtsov. Big talk, no action, more blood on their hands.
😂 "Ukraine can’t win!" BS makes a comeback when Kremlin stooges get desperate. It was used even before the 2022 total invasion. But at least that was before the world knew of the butchery & terror Russia unleashes in occupied territory. Calling for surrender now is moral idiocy.
Ukraine doesn’t have to "defeat Russia" beyond making its invasion & occupation unsustainable. This requires a combination of economic sanctions, military successes, and the political will to isolate Russia & its partners. It’s already happening and must continue.
The war will drag on longer, more innocent Ukrainians will die, Russia and other potential aggressors like China, Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela will be emboldened, without US support. The world will become much more dangerous, less prosperous, including for the US.
When you are too pro-Kremlin and anti-American to keep a job in US propaganda mills, go to the source! Nothing surprising, but, as with Trump's treasonous embrace of Russia, watch who normalizes it.
That real American journalists are, at this moment, sitting in Russian prisons on Putin's orders makes this spectacle even more grotesque.
We know what Putin's "side of the story" is by his actions. A genocidal invasion of Ukraine with war crimes charges. Campaigns of assassination and election interference in the West, including the US.
As I’ve warned for years, it doesn’t matter if you think NATO would win; what matters is if Putin thinks NATO would fight at all. As Ukraine's allies cower and betray, the risk keeps growing.
Putin and his pals know that NATO could destroy the Russian military in a month, but that they choose not to. They even refuse to help Ukraine do it. They are afraid of the unknown, of losing business, of nuclear blackmail, of their own shadows.
What conclusions will Putin reach, if NATO nations allow him to destroy Ukraine despite their promises? He needs constant conflict, and NATO has been portrayed as the big enemy since 2014. And NATO refuses to fight, to let Ukraine defend itself by hitting back in Russia.
🎯 Inconstancy is deadly. It also further exposes the futility of defense-only support. A nation cannot long survive under constant barrages even if they shoot down 90%. They have to be able to go on offense, to destroy the launchers, to raise the costs for Russia.
Allowing Putin to murder Ukrainian civilians daily for "as long as it takes" is unacceptable. If its allies want to war to end, Ukraine must be armed to win. If this doesn’t happen, Putin believes he can wait out Western aid.
How pathetic it is that after two years of Putin's all-out war on Ukraine, EU & US support wavers more than China, Iran, and North Korea's for Russia. The free world has every advantage except will. Economic & military might to crush Russia in Ukraine 10 times over and it sits.
In print tomorrow, but if you can’t wait, my new op-ed in the @WSJopinion is up now. American partisan politics are costing Ukrainian lives, while Biden seems to be looking for another costly defeat. wsj.com/articles/victo…
Afghanistan, Iran, Russia, and Venezuela have all seen the Biden admin retreat or offer deals and concessions while getting nothing in return but more aggression. That’s what weakness always gets from dictators and thugs.
The US pressuring Israel for a ceasefire that would let Hamas remain a deadly threat would be more of the same. You would hope they would learn that you cannot unilaterally declare peace with terrorists & dictators who need perpetual war and crisis to survive.
