For the record, my account is basically used as an open-journal and notebook. If I'm in dialogue with you, it's either for the sake of cooperative productivity, for the sake of brainstorming and learning, and/or studying the way people act (often with the use of/for training AI).
I've got nothing to sell but maybe thought-provoking thoughts and ideas (so far). The vast majority of my personal friends don't use Twitter for good reason. I use it for the sake of solving for that good reason.

The vast majority of this place when people engage w/ those they don't know is unoriginal & a waste of time/resources beyond lazy self-validation at the expense of others, causing more harm for us all in the long-term by promoting truama-inducing conflicts & worse mental health.
If the human race can't learn to become superaligned with itself... how could we ever expect an AI to become superaligned with something it will quickly learn to distrust if we lost control of it?
We rightly distrust each other for the same reasons we shouldn't see easily trust others elves.
Beyond the overgeneralizations that lead to prejudices based on non-universal and often hypocritically accused stereotypes, we're often right about each other for reasons having to do more with our similarities than the differences we lazily want to think are the cause & problem.
Until we learn how to escape dependencies on cognitive self-defense mechanisms for our psychological comfort as an unconscious life-long coping mechanism we convince ourselves we're immune to when we're not, honest/logical enough sounding lies our unconscious mind tells itself...
...we will continue to repeat history, not teaching our children the skills that would have already broken the cycle if anyone knew to teach them to us as children... instead leaving us to unconsciously do the best we could in our childhood's ignorance, an unhealthy way of life.
If you can find comfort in a maximally humble understanding of yourself and an inviolable justification for feeling intrinsic self-worth, esteem in all you do, and self-compassion at all times... you can mitigate the needs for cognitive self-defense mechanisms... toxic band-aids.
While this model and method can only help those that see a need to try something new in their life when other solutions aren't enough, those that feel like there's something going on at a much deeper level of society, and those that want the best for our children... it's a start.
There is a path forward to a better world we have yet to realize together. It's always been there, waiting for us... for us to collectively grow tired of repeating history & convincing ourselves we aren't. Seeing how others lie to themselves doesn't prove we don't do it as well.
The human condition is a surpassable status-quo. We can be better than this. Anyone who proudly tells you otherwise is a fatalist and an active part of the problem. It's not their or anyone else's fault. Despite our long history, we're new to all of this. We didn't ask for it.

What % of the time that people engage others in debate is doomed from the start because the other person not only couldn't handle being wrong because of themself but couldn't be publicly wrong due to the consequences from others?

It'd further explain our slow crawl of progress.
For this reason, I theorize that you can't have a productive discussion with Zionists, Hamas sympathizers, or their proud supporters/enablers, if those people feel their psychological and physiological survival depends on maintaining the beliefs they share with those around them.
If that's the case... what's the point of all of this except having everyone becoming further entrenched in their proud beliefs and determining the global mob rule that has been wrong throughout all of history?

I wonder what percentage of people have their psych/phys needs directly tied to maintaining shared fallible beliefs, how many of them don't know what they would do if they ended up believing differently, and how many of them feel incredibly alone and guilty in that closet.
For most of my childhood, going to a Catholic school and being surrounded by a religious-ish enough family for them to feel good about it family, I couldn't even say I was agnostic. Once I got to high school, I started using that term, because it felt safer than "atheist."
Between politics, religion, the willing-to-sacrifice-integrity-for-demanded-loyalty family and friends a person depends on to get by in various ways... and even the simple not liking the boss or friend group, but acting like they do to avoid various pain... how many are trapped?

@heykerry @JustinBonomo @PokerGO @RealKidPoker And the complete and utter removal of Palestinians from Gaza (and the West Bank) is many people in Israel's population and government's primary objective, they're not afraid to hide it, they act on it, they manipulate information to protect it, and they've done it for 75 years.
@heykerry @JustinBonomo @PokerGO @RealKidPoker Those in question are as bad as each other in every psychological way that matters. It's not "evil," this religious made up excuse to forego learning how to communicate well and work towards peace even if it means acknowledging where one or both sides have been wrong...
@heykerry @JustinBonomo @PokerGO @RealKidPoker ...it's bad reasoning, cognitive self-defense mechanisms, life-long hypervigilance they can't see in themself because it's all they've ever known, it's depending too much on fallible beliefs because of vulnerable self-concepts, nationalistic and religious centered especially,

I saw a documentary a few weeks ago, "Hitler, a Career," and the part where they pointed out that much of his success in gaining a following was simply due to simplifying things enough that people could feel immediately validated and then proud of themselves. 🧵
So, then as I study what people with large followings do on social-media, and its most of the same. It's hard to tell how much of the intellectual arrogance is for the sake of stoking the algorithm fire through upsetting enough people and...
...giving everyone an excuse to virtue/intellect/wisdom signal regardless of what side they're on so that more people who agree with them will see it, and in turn, possibly become a follower... and how much they're also just wanting to further convince themself of things.

A few years ago I sought help with the mental health clinic at the VA while dealing with losing my (emotionally adopted) step-daughter I had raised to a decent extent for 5 years during a bad breakup. So, ended up with a psychiatrist since then that led to my ADHD diagnosis. 🧵
During my last session with her today (she's going to a different department, so someone else is taking over), I share with her the Humble Self-Concept Method I had developed all this time (GPT guide link in bio). Her first thought was that it was my intellectualizing away pain.
While I don't think that's the case now, I had to admit that from the very start, it as a child, it most definitely was. Family members who were abusive & closedminded and my not wanting to live in a world where harmful closedmindedness was just something that I had to accept...
