1/ Entry to Uranus is reportedly blocked for unknown reasons, despite it taking a hard pounding in southern Ukraine. Would-be applicants to join the Roscosmos-sponsored private military company, as well as other Russian PMCs, say that all recruitment has been halted. ⬇️ Image
2/ Uranus was launched by the Russian space agency Roscosmos in 2023 to recruit rocket scientists and engineers to serve as "Imperial Stormtroopers" [sic] in Ukraine. Its members have reportedly been fighting in Krynky in the Kherson region.
3/ Ukrainian resistance at Krynky is likely to have severely battered Uranus, which reportedly has a constant urgent need for a supply of fresh men. However, Roscosmos has stopped recruiting, without any explanation. Its representatives cannot say when it will resume.
4/ Other PMCs are reportedly in the same situation. The remnants of the Wagner Group – now under the command of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) – are also no longer seeking recruits to fight in Ukraine, but now only offer "hot trips" to Africa.
5/ Similarly, the Moscow Region "Elite" regiment of Governor Andrei Vorobyov had earlier carried out a heavily-publicised recruitment campaign, but is now not recruiting at all.
6/ The reason for this abrupt and seemingly coordinated cessation of recruitment activity is unclear, but one possibility is that the Russian government may be trying to wind down the PMCs and redirect their recruitment into the ranks of the regular army.
7/ The Russian government has made a considerable effort over the past 18 months to strengthen its ability to identify those subject to mobilisation, for instance digitising records previously only held in paper format and delivering call-up orders electronically.
8/ In the Moscow region, for instance, the Moscow mayor's office reportedly orders all organisations and enterprises to declare weekly how many working men of military age they employ and who is liable for military service.
9/ Since the end of January 2024, Moscow employers' personnel managers are now required to send digital records of all of their men on the military register and notify it with the voenkomat (military commissariat) at 5 Yablochkova Street in Moscow. Image
10/ It's possible that the reason for the apparent ending of PMC recruitment may be that the Russian government is trying to simplify the wide variety of military formations in Ukraine, by allowing the PMCs to die out through attrition without allowing them to replenish. /end

1/ Hellish conditions on the front line in Ukraine have reportedly led to an upsurge in extrajudicial punishments in the Russian army, with soldiers being hanged from or tied to trees for days, forced to rape each other, or thrown naked into open pits in freezing temperatures. ⬇️ Hanged Russian soldier with a placard reading "THERE IS NO ROOM FOR COWARDS IN THIS WORLD"
2/ Verstka reports on a series of interviews with frontline Russian troops over the past few months. Many have been fighting at the Ukrainian bridgehead at Krynky on the left bank of the Dnipro, which they describe as a scene of slaughter with 60-100 people dying every day. Image
3/ "It's hell here," says one Russian soldier. "They're killing each other. The Ukranians are killing each other. The orders are stupid. Everyone understands that you can't succeed, but they send them to die anyway."

1/ Grant Cardone isn't just a prominent MAGA supporter, he's a Scientology megadonor - a 'whale'. His call to boycott New York City real estate in response to Trump's massive fine for fraud is straight out of Scientology's playbook.
2/ Scientology practices what it calls 'disconnection'. If a member has a friend or relative who is deemed antagonistic to Scientology - a 'Potential Trouble Source' (PTS) or 'Suppressive Person' (SP) - they are required to disconnect, or sever all links, with that person.
3/ This is hugely damaging for members - it leads to families breaking up and children being alienated from parents. If someone leaves Scientology, they face the loss of all of their social and family ties overnight.

1/ More details have emerged about the destruction of the Russian large landing ship Novocherkassk on 26 December 2023. According to a report, the local air defence system was inoperative and could not intercept the two incoming Storm Shadow missiles. ⬇️
2/ Novocherkassk was reportedly under repair in Feodosiya from 17 November. She was due to undergo sea trials on 26 December and was being manned by a crew of up to 90 personnel who were seconded from three other large landing ships – the Yamal, Azov and Nikolai Filchenkov.
3/ Most of the personnel were professional (contracted) sailors, with 14 conscripts also present. Many were reportedly sleeping in cabins at the time of the attack, with the commanders on the navigation bridge. Almost all of those who were sleeping are said to have been killed.

1/ The recently-sacked Admiral Viktor Sokolov was reportedly dismissed for ordering the large landing ship Caesar Kunikov to go to sea without a working propulsion system. The Ukrainian sea drone attack on 14 February is said to have ambushed the ship while it was under tow. ⬇️ Image
2/ Sokolov's sacking took place without an official explanation, and there was also no explanation of what the Caesar Kunikov was doing off Alupka in Crimea at the time it was sunk. The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel has published an (unconfirmed) explanation of both occurrences. Image
3/ According to a source quoted by the channel, the Caesar Kunikov had suffered a serious technical malfunction and had left Novorossiysk on the night of 12 February to go to Sevastopol for repairs. It was unable to provide independent propulsion, so it was accompanied by tugs. Image

1/ Only three bodies are reported to have been recovered from the wreckage of the large landing ship Novocherkassk, destroyed by a Ukrainian missile strike in the port of Feodosia. The rest of the Russian Black Sea Fleet has reportedly left the port due to its vulnerability. Image
2/ Recent pictures published by the 'Crimean Wind' Telegram channel show the remains of the ship being lifted from the water by a large floating crane. It seems clear that the Novocherkassk was completely demolished by the explosion that sank her. Image
3/ According to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, only three remains were recovered but have not been identified due to the effects of the fire, explosion and submersion in water. DNA testing is being carried out.

1/ A blanket of silence has descended in the Russian media around the fate of the corvette Ivanovets, sunk by Ukrainian sea drones on 1 February 2024. 32 members of the crew are unofficially reported to have survived the ship's sinking. ⬇️
2/ The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel has published a chronology and location of the attack which matches very well with an impressive OSINT analysis derived from star positions published by @Dmojavensis (see below).
3/ According to the channel: "The 56-meter-long vessel was caught in a trap 9 km from the entrance to Lake Donuzlav, near the village of Okunivka, Black Sea region." [Map below is by @Dmojavensis] Image
