This came after 15yrs of an Israeli-led, Egyptian supported siege on Gaza, making the place "unlivable" already in 2020, according to the @UN. Note as well that imposing a blockade is act of war. The origins of the current war can be traced to June '07

The white nationalist Richard Spencer has saluted the work of neo-Nazis & launched a journal called Radix Journal that has published many antisemitic articles. He describes himself as a ‘white Zionist,’ saying he wants a secure homeland for ‘my people’ like the Jews have in Israel. For Spencer, a white ethno-state would be an “Altneuland,” or “An old, new country,” a term he borrowed from a Theodor Herzl novel.
