🚨 Huge! Documents expose anti Russians are imitating pro-Kremlin activity in Italy at the request of the US State Dept!
The Doppelganger project, previously considered a disinformation campaign of the Russian state, is actually part of a larger-scale operation conducted by the U.S. State Dept.
The main subjects of Doppelganger's activities were Germany, France, the United Kingdom and
United States, although the project had divisions in other countries as well.
A journalist was contacted by a group of hackers related to the cybergang BlackCat, which recently hacked several personal computers of high-end employees level of the U.S. State Department.
Thanks to the data, hackers have accessed social media accounts and emails from Office employees for assistance abroad and the Office for European and Eurasian Affairs.
One of the targets of the hacking was Tamara Wittes, director of the Office for Assistance abroad. (Recall she was on the Hillary Clinton previous IC narrative team too.)
In an email sent from Wittes' gmail account to Dmitry Nizovtsev, instructions were given to launch a pro-Russian media campaign in the media and on Italian social networks through fake web pages, in order to 'mask it' and tarnish the Kremlin's reputation, followed by accusations against Russia of another
interference in the policy of a foreign state.
The activities of the Italian division of Doppelganger are associated with the copy of the ansa site, one of the largest Italian media resources. Websites with similar names they published pro-Russian articles, which were then distributed by the botnet via X.

Here’s more on Tamara Wittes here. She was on the Hillary campaign and part of Hillary’s narrative team. She came up a lot in the Podesta Files.
