So what's happened in the last 36 hours?

Well... U.S. media (nowhere near as subserviant as our own, recall Dear Reader how it was U.S. Press Orgs who first killed "The Photo" while UK Press just blindly retailed it as an assurance that everything was fine...

Well, U.S. Media have begun mocking the Royals with Late Night's Stephen Colbert leading the charge.

He referenced William's alleged affair with Rose Hanbury *and even the possibility of an illegitimate child*. CHRIST.

To those who haven't been following Buckingham Palace's *WEIRD* hold over news, with threats of legal action slapped on those who talk about her...

Rose Hanbury is alleged to have been Prince William's mistress around the time Kate was pregnant for the third time.

God i cannot believe i'm writing a thread about Royal fucking gossip. Kill me.

But *AS* this sits broadly within the context of Press and Press manipulation, let's try & grit our teeth and get the f*ck through this...

Interestingly gritting your teeth and getting through it could be an approach familiar to Hanbury who is married to the Marquis David Cholmondeley who is not just 25 years older than her but was/is in some circles thought to be "not the marrying kind".

So this shit just gets murkier and murkier. Like, what do we have here?

A future King. A possible, alleged affair with a former model who's hitched to a much older guy who may/may not be gay and who just wanted an heir?

In a twist of fate or weird overlapping circles, it has also emerged that Hanbury first met Cholmondeley partying the night away in an Italian villa owned by shamed Tory minister Lord Lambton...

Quite why we ever take or took - at face value, as Gospel - the words, photos and narratives shopped to us by PR consultants PAID TO LIE, is a mind-bender.

So that's a development, isnt it?

Again, notice this is from a U.S. website, NOT in the British newspapers.

Previously it was "these are just wild internet conspiracies!" - but we've now matured to "there is a problem" FRIENDS privately say, and it's stress related.

Apparently there are "frustrations" at Palace staff for not adequately vetting "the photo", allowing this all to blow up more than was necessary.

But is this true? How would we know? It's all anonymous sources, privately briefed

I mean, there's still no word on why she left Windsor - head turned away - to go ALL the way into London to then NOT be seen at the engagement they were headed to, or who took that photo, or where specifically it was taken?

Still no clarification on how a photo - “taken by Prince William”, debunked as a concoction of separate images from different occasions, edited in Adobe, shot on professional equipment using expensive lenses and a two year-old image of her face - *magically* became a silly little “informal” snap by an “experimenting”, amateur photographer.

Indeed the Palace are just doing what they always do🤣

They fuck up, they offer a watery, completely unbelievable explanation or distortion of facts and when you try to pick it apart?

Drawbridge is up, radio silence.

That may have worked up to the end of the last century but in the days of 24H news and real time updates, I guess what we're seeing is there are absolutely limits to using "Never Complain, Never Explain" as a PR strategy.

They do, of course, still have their loyal subjects in the UK press however. And that has also been on full display in the last 36 hours...

You can see this by virtue of how requesting clarity on any of this condemns you to accusations of “bullying”.

Indeed, the Sun’s Editor, Victoria Newton, went on Times Radio to decry people “bullying” Kate.
