22 years after gaining your independence, you Ukrainians decided to say: "We are European".

So today, I have come to Ukraine to tell the people of Ukraine: "We are all Ukrainians".

We decided to grant EU candidate status to Ukraine.

Ukraine is the EU. And the EU is Ukraine.

I have one dream. I dream that one day a Ukrainian will hold my job as President of the European Council. Or as President of the European Parliament. Or President of the Commission.

We want hope for the whole world.

For this, the European Union reaches out to all those who want to cooperate for the common good.

To honour the promise of the United Nations.

The EU is not asking anyone to choose between East and West, North or South. But there is a choice to be made.

The EU's choice is respect for borders, rather than aggression. It's cooperation rather than threat. It's rules-based order, rather than the law of the strongest.

Peace, prosperity and stability. They go hand in hand.

Europe will always be the partner of development, the partner of progress, and the partner of peace & stability.

We are mobilised with the G7. The EU will do its utmost to overcome this severe food crisis that is already present in a number of countries.

It threatens us collectively for the next few months and perhaps even for the next few years.

There are other crises in the world, in many other places, where human madness, instability or insecurity bring misery, sadness and pain. The EU has not forgotten.

We wish to remain a committed player in humanitarian & political support and resolve differences through dialogue.
