Two years ago, I wrote a post that went viral and was translated into various languages. The post was about Ukraine's determination to fight to the end.
Today, I want to add more…
1/n
2/ At that time, people were pushing Ukraine to negotiate. I wrote then that Ukraine would not negotiate until the russian occupiers retreated from our territory. Neither independence nor territorial integrity can be a subject of negotiation.
3/ Now, two years later, I want to reiterate my statements. I say this at a time when russians have been launching mass rocket attacks on our cities for several days in a row.
4/ When American politicians cannot agree on a critical aid package necessary for Ukraine to defend not only the front lines but also cities in the rear. When senior US officials try to persuade us not to attack russian oil refineries.
5/ When Polish farmers block the Ukrainian border. When a joint team of Americans and russians is preparing to launch into space. When the war in Ukraine has long disappeared from Western newspaper headlines.
6/ I do not retract any of my prior statements. Furthermore, I want to add. We will not just fight to the end or to victory. We will fight as we see fit and will not listen to any "concerned voices."
7/ We will bring the war to russian territory, we will attack their military, metallurgical, and oil plants. We will invade russian territory. We will make sure they have no peace until the last russian soldier leaves Ukraine.
8/ We listened to "advisers” for too long, telling us not to escalate, not to irritate russia - but it did not help us. We listened to those who verbally supported us but continued to buy russian oil, planning joint projects with the russians. We will no longer listen to them.
9/ The price of these calls for peace and negotiations - is that, as a writer and historian, I still have to fight the occupiers. The price of these meaningless words is the destroyed houses today in Zaporizhzhia, the trolleybus with civilians hit by a russian rocket.
10/ It is the death of the wonderful poet Maksym Kryvtsov, who instead of writing poems went to war. It is the death of my colleague Yuriy Juice, who like me was a professional historian, but instead of sitting in an office, he went to the trenches.
11/ It is the death of the poet Viktoria Amelina, who was not even a military person, but it did not save her from a russian rocket containing elements made in Western countries. I can tell thirty such stories. Thirty people russians forever took away from me.
12/ So the next time American politicians, Polish farmers, Slovak voters, or anyone else thinks of pushing us to compromise or wage war in a way that won't hurt their interests - I will ask them to shut up.
13/ We fight, and we will fight as we see fit. Until we drive the last russian occupier from our land. You can help us by giving us more weapons and blocking trade with russia. Or you can betray us. But even if you betray us, we will still continue to fight.
14/ I would like this text to reposted and shared around the world. Spread it, copy it, translate it, send it to politicians.

Mike Johnson again cancels voting on the US aid to Ukraine.
The date has been postponed again for several more weeks. Speaker Mike Johnson is coming up with new excuses, saying that he is trying to 'soften opposition' from radical Republicans.
1/n
2/ If put to a vote, the bill is expected to pass with a large majority in favor, just like in the Senate. But Johnson, who has accepted russian campaign money in the past, refuses to put the aid bill to a vote.
3/ This delay for over 6 months has already cost Ukraine thousands of Ukrainian lives. I am truly ashamed for these representative of the Republican Party. And I am even more ashamed for some Ukrainian Americans who will actually be voting for these pro-russian advocates.
Two years ago I had one of the most painful conversations with a faculty I hired at American University Kyiv. Hanna was supposed to move to Kyiv, but she stayed in Sumy - a city surrounded by russians. I didn’t know if I would ever see her again. Here is that conversation: 1/n
2/ Me: Hanna, how are you? Were you able to get out of Sumy? Do you need a place to stay in Western Ukraine?
3/ Hanna: I stay where I am - in Sumy, with my parents. Both of them disabled, and need me. As soon as the situation comes back to "normal" the nurses might come back. Normally, I have two nurses working by shifts, but now they choose to be with their families.
Christ is risen! Easter - is a celebration of justice in the universe. Jesus was innocent and on this monumental day He overcome death, becoming the atonement for sins of humanity. 1/n
2/ This is a great news for the righteous, those who have suffered from evil, those who have been unjustly killed, raped, tortured, those who have been crying on the graves of their relatives, howling in the night from the agony of pain.
3/ God promised that: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Revelation 21:4)
Russian opposition speaker and the Chess Grandmaster, Gary Kasparov, at the NATO Public Forum said things most of the Russian 'opposition', including Navalny, would never do: 1/n
2/ “The liberation of Russia from Putin’s fascism will not start until the Ukrainian flag is raised over Sevastopol. Period. Anything else is wishful thinking."
3/ "You have to kill the idea of empire in the minds of Russians. They have to understand the war is lost. Ukraine must win. Ukrainian victory includes three things: liberation, reparation, and justice.”
This is something that many people do not understand. It is not Putin’s war against Ukraine. Even if you take out Putin, nothing will change. He is a symptom of a much bigger sickness.
1/n
2/ It is not Putin, but russians who are killing Ukrainians, castrating and beheading men, raping women and children (as young as 4 years old), shelling civilians.
3/ All the available polls show that most russians support what russia is doing in Ukraine. Some supporters of “good russians theory” will tell me that polls cannot be trusted. Then go and talk to the regular russians on Telegram channels.
There are still people who admire the “great russian culture.” Most of them are brainwashed and morally bankrupt, such as Pope Francis. They believe that somehow Putin miraculously departed from the true russian heritage and became an evil tyrant. 1/n
2/ These beliefs couldn’t be further from truth.
Putin is a symptom of a much bigger sickness. The sickness of imperialism and superiority that came from the russian culture.
3/ Colonial imperialism would have been impossible to sustain without the belief in the system it promoted. Russian culture created Vladimir Putin.
