An update on little Sandy who was living alone in a cave just a couple of days ago. He is still very nervous and decompressing and trying to understand his new world.
Sandy is having a very good day at his own pace (1/5) 🧵
It’s important to remember Sandy has been taken away from his mother, dumped alone on a beach without food and water and had big scary humans come and catch him. It was a traumatic last 2-3 days for him so he has a lot to process. There will be no rush (2/5)
Sandy doesn’t like new things. His default place is to hide behind sofas, boxes, trees or anything he can find. I just let him for now as he has a lot to process. (3/5)
Sandy loves his little suite with his comfy bed. He knows it’s safe in there, food is delivered and he has water and can catch up on his sleep. That’s his little safe spot and you can see his whole body relax there (4/5)
Sandy likes being carried and is very gentle. Much too soft to have ever made it on the streets. His teeth show he is about 3 months old absolute max.
Tomorrow I’ll be a nice gentle dog friend and a bandana. Today Sandy says he’s happy to be safe and sleep more 🥰🙏 (5/5)

This is little Sandy. He’s 3 months old and after a tough start to his life he said today was the best day he’s ever had. He said he didn’t know life could be this amazing and he is very happy now… (1/6) 🧵
I’ve no idea how he ended up alone and in his little beach cave. He was so young he was scrapping for food. There is no way he’d have survived for much longer. It wasn’t easy catching Sandy and it was stressful for him hit totally essential (2/6)
He’s been hiding for most of the first 3 days and very scared but we’ve made some huge progress on the last 24 hours. He really is still a very young puppy so he’s been very brave… (3/6)
Just 9 days ago Rusty and Libby were living on short chains. This was their life for the last 14 months.
To see them today is an absolute joy. I could never have imagined they would embrace their freedom like this… (1/4) 🧵
They were here in the insufferable heat with the kid hurting their backs. Their muscles had faded away and their legs were weak. 9 days later everything had changed… (2/4)
Libby was very nervous at first and we let her decompress for a good few days. I took her out on her first big walk with little Eve today.
I might just be imagining it but I think she is walking as proud as can be. She’s so chuffed to have her freedom (3/4)
There was a VIP visitor back at the land today. The beautiful Cindy Crawford popped in to say hello and tell us how she was getting on (1/4) 🧵
Cindy has lost a staggering 13kg / 28.5 Lbs since I found her on the streets. She is absolutely loving her forever home and is losing about 400g or 1lb a week. She has another 9kg or 15lbs to go.
The big problem is she is so fluffy now it is hard to see the weight loss (2/4)
Along with the weight her biggest change has been her skin and fur. You can see the before and after here.
She has so much excess fur and baggy skin she still looks bigger than she is. The scales don’t lie though (3/4)
Today was one of the most stressful mornings ever. A typical day helping street dogs 😬
After saving little Sandy in a dramatic rescue yesterday this morning he vanished. We’d built him a fort and left him safe and sound but he was gone at 6am. (1/7) 🧵
It was a complete mistake on our behalf. You can see a tiny hole at the bottom. We put him in a suite with a hole and no wire covering it. Yesterday was hectic, lots of dogs came and left, we were tired. We made a big mistake and little Sandy was gone. He’d wiggled out (2/7)
Everyone swung into action. 5 of us scoured the jungle and local areas on bikes. After 3 hours looking we knew it was too hot so had to give up. I was thinking this was the last Is see of him. You start to blame yourself so much… (3/7)
This little puppy was dumped and alone living in a cave. Heard about him this morning at 5am.
A beautiful result for little Sandy. Not easy but had to be done as we have severe heat weather alerts here at the moment. 3 months old and alone the poor little thing.
There was some serious drama when I thought I’d lost him earlier just after his big clean up. He wasn’t in the little fort we’d built for him.
Thought he’d jumped the window and made a run for it.
Found him 10 mins later down the back of the couch
We’ll let him decompress now for a couple of days and get a mum type dog in with him. He’s so small and you can imagine how stressful catching him life this is. I always wish i could tell them it’s for their own good.
Very awkward under rocks climbing around to not get bitten. He is not aggressive in slightest but he was trying to bite in defense. Double towels are the best protection in this awkward scenario after got the lead on him
Just a short thread to cheer you all up this Monday. It’s very tough emotionally doing the dogs but this is the part that makes it worth it.
This is King Whacker of Scotland and today was a very special day for him… (1/6) 🧵
It’s well over a year since I got the call out to a dog that had been split open with a pick axe. It came within a millimeter of killing him. It was a long road to recovery and I was very new to helping dogs but he made it. (2/6)
I called him Whacker in a rush as he got a whack to the head. He then become King Whacker as he looked and acted so regal with his cone and in general. He was a street dog who I promised would never go back to the streets (3/6)
