A packed house in Tunnel Hill, Ga. for @RepMTG’s town hall meeting tonight where she’s discussing her motion to vacate against Speaker Mike Johnson. “Our Republican House majority has failed completely and I have had enough of it.” #gapol

Greene hammering @SpeakerJohnson on violating the 72-hour rule, breaking promise for regular order, and moving spending bill “that funded full term abortion.” A woman in the crowd yells “that’s murder!”

@SpeakerJohnson Greene also says the spending bill “fully funded arrests of January 6 defendants” and fully funded the FBI that raided the presidents homes. “Am I angry? Yes. My question to you is are you angry?” Big cheers to, “You’re damn right you’re angry!”

@SpeakerJohnson Greene segues to FISA bill, asks who has been suspended by Facebook and maybe a dozen hands go up. “There are some good people here.” She says that the government wants to spy on them and warns, “Mike Johnson has got it all worked out. So the deep state gets their way.”

Moving on to immigration, she gets huge applause at impeaching DHS Secretary and President Joe Biden. “If I had it my way, I would have been successful in my objection on January 6th and he wouldn’t even be the president.”

In Ukraine, Greene calls it “the 51st state,” and adds she’s “heard it whispered about in meetings” that an American draft is possible, although even though active duty U.S. troops are not on the ground.

We’ve heard a lot of this before from Greene, but this entire town hall meeting is not really about Democrats, but about Speaker Mike Johnson.

But Greene doesn’t say she’ll force a call for Johnson to go— “I’m not going to hand the gavel over to the Democrats, but I will not tolerate this anymore.”

When a constituent question says Speaker Johnson is better than former Speaker McCarthy, Greene responds, “I beg to differ.” Later: “He’s not the Republican Speaker of the House, he’s the Democrat Speaker of the House and he’s doing a better job than Hakeem Jeffries.”
