I was recently looking at few Edible Oil stocks...simply because some have fallen quite a lot and Promoters seem to be adding to their stake
Here are some details on Edible Oil Industry🧵
India is world's largest importer of edible oils
GOI has launched National Mission on Edible Oils - Oil Palm to boost domestic production

Recently I was reading about Rain Industries which manufactures Calcined Petroleum coke (CPC)
Industry seems highly cyclical and here's a brief 🧵on the same
CPC is used as raw material for aluminum, graphite electrodes & steel Industry
~ 85% of global CPC supply is dedicated to aluminium sector
(1/n)
What is Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC)?
CPC is produced from Green Petroleum Coke, a by-product of Crude Oil Refining, through a process known as "Calcining" that removes moisture and volatile matter from GPC at high temperature
(2/n)
CPC is available in 2 primary qualities:
1) Anode-grade CPC-for aluminum smelting process
2) Industrial grade CPC used in manufacturing titanium dioxide and others
Anode-grade CPC represents more than 75% of global CPC production
Agrochemical is an important industry for India considering we have the largest population to feed to
2022-23 was bad for the industry with pricing challenges and excess supply from China
A lot of stocks are down 50% from highs
Here are some industry details 🧵
