Why should you care about the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)? For one thing, it’s enormous & thus enormously influential, especially for the Christian Right. The SBC is already extremely “conservative,” but it’s not yet extreme enough for those who hope to take control of it during the SBC election in June.
