'Why did the right go from only opposing child transition and gender inclusive bathroom policies to opposing all transgenderism?'

The left forced the question.

Basically, most people, I think, never thought much about the mechanics of transition before. It was mostly jokes.🧵

You might have caught a sex change Before & After episode of a talk show or a 'woman trapped in man's body,' reference on a TV show.

A guy, 'getting his dick chopped off,' was a joke.

But beyond that, it was far away in San Francisco.

Then, all of a sudden, it was everywhere.

The media began demanding men be allowed in women's restrooms if they simply identified as women. That raised immediate red flags.

That started the conversation.

Bruce Jenner was on the cover of a magazine in a corset looking like Jessica Lange. That created online debate.

But it was the sudden explosion of drag kids and then trans kids that jump started the movement.

By the time the world knew, it was already embedded in the medical industry.

Most on the right seemed to hold moderate views on LGBT in general, but this was a line.

A near decade after the first bathroom policies were introduced, LGBTQ became the most pervasive and aggressive activism movement in the country, targeting childhood entertainment and education with religious zeal.

The left forced the right to respond and we did.

Loudly.

I am trans.
I've always been supportive of transition and most on the right didn't care what adults did to their own bodies.

That began to change after adult surgeries and hormones were justified as 'medically necessary,' for minors and then kids.

The whole industry was seen.

Now, like many of you, all transition looks obscene. In detail, it is barbaric, terrifying and genuinely repulsive.

The practice itself has been examined in-depth and it makes no sense. It is pure ideological fantasy. Belief. Politics.

But it's not medicine.
Not treatment.

So the left forced the question.
They forced us to look closer as they demanded we sign a lengthy societal user agreement on gender identity.
They harassed us at every turn to verbally promote a false reality.

Now people see it all as it is and they oppose it all.

I personally no longer support medical transition. I think it is cruel, barbaric and deeply, profoundly unethical. It is actually harmful, tangibly dangerous as a medical practice.

I support adults living their own lives, but I don't think transition is the answer to dysphoria.

So that's why.
It's not extremism.
It's not hypocrisy.
It's not hate or intolerance.
People simply saw what was actually happening and determined it was unacceptably awful.

The left wanted our attention and they got it.

They're just mad they've lost control of our politeness.
