The Power of God in Us
This week we have been discussing the identity of the actual source of power that sustains us. The true power comes from the One who created us, loves us, fights for and rescues us; who heals us and ultimately lifts us up in glory. We have all of that power living right here
inside of us. In Ephesians 1:19 Paul told the believers to remember that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead (lifted Him up) dwelled inside of them.

We all need that same reminder today because absolutely nothing has changed. As God’s people and followers of Jesus, we
all have the same power to do everything that He did. Satan is still very real and he is desperate to imitate God and to try to steal that power from us so that he can control us and make us his slaves. Satan’s only power is sorcery and witchcraft (all lies and deceit – smoke and
mirrors). We are on this journey right now through this wilderness in this world because of our own poor choices. But the LORD has promised to raise us up in victory… victory over that serpent and victory over death. He fought for us and He has already defeated death. So why do
we fear it so much? We serve the God of the living; Satan is the god of the dead. When we fully understand this power and walk in it, there is NOTHING in this world that can stop or enslave us. It is God who keeps us and it is only God who calls us home.

When we seek help from
medical professionals today, remember that they are only instruments that are being used by God to enable us to continue our journeys to fulfill our divine purpose. All along the way the LORD demonstrates His power over the attacks of the enemy. Let us not make the same mistakes
that the Israelites made when they eventually began to worship that bronze snake on the pole. THE SNAKE DID NOT HEAL THEM! After they had been bitten by sin, it was the almighty power of God that healed them when they simply looked at the snake that had been lifted up. It was a
reminder of the power of God that was with them as He continued to lead them to the Promised Land.

Finally, God created us in His image. We were made to be His holy temple. Death and darkness have absolutely no place in us. In His temple there is only the burning fire which is
the glory and power of God. There is no room for fear or sorcery. Let us walk today as a people who are aware of the power that resides inside of us.

The scripture for today is from the epistle of 1 Corinthians chapter 6 beginning at verse12.
Glorify God in Body and Spirit
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body
is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a
harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the
body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and
in your spirit, which are God’s. - 1 Corinthians 6:12-20

Bless My Mind – a Humble Prayer
LORD, God in heaven, this morning as I awake and prepare to go into the mix of life in this world, I pray that You would bless my mind. Bless it LORD, not that I would think what I naturally want to think, but that You would press in and make my thoughts into Your thoughts.
Guide my eyes and ears to see and hear what You want me to see and hear.

Help me to laugh when You laugh, to cry when You cry, to celebrate as You celebrate and to mourn as You mourn. In other words, LORD, have YOUR way in me, to me and through me today.

Bigger Than Our Problems – Words of Life
During times of stress in our lives, we all have the tendency to give our enemy more credit than he deserves. We do this by giving the problems and situations that he throws at us more of our focus and attention (our time) than he deserves. Before we even realize it, we are
responding out of fear, doubt and uncertainty about challenges that we face. When we allow our focus to remain on them, these things of the enemy can become larger than life. Then uncertainty and fear can easily weave their way even into our prayers.

But God gently whispers to

The Power of the Word
Hebrews 4:12 says:
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

This is such a powerful and true word that has been
ministering to me in a profound way today. I have found myself wanting to get offended, to get angry, to feel neglected and to wonder “why is all of this happening to me?”

In the middle of it, God’s Holy Spirit gently whispered a familiar word to me… “Count it all joy.”

Power and the Symbol of the Serpent
Throughout the bible the symbol of the serpent has represented Satan and his power over the people. We see these symbols from Genesis 3 where he first appeared in the garden to Revelation 20 where he is cast into the fiery lake. Symbols of the serpent are often used by Satan to
imitate God and to trick the people into thinking that he (Satan) has power over them, including the power to heal and to give life. The truth is that the real power of healing and life comes from God alone. The only power that Satan has is the power to deceive and to trick

Reliance on Mediums
In yesterday’s message, God warned about harming the children and He demanded severe consequences for those who did these things. He called these acts of spiritual prostitution because the people were using their children to worship Satan. But the abuse of the children was only
the tip of the iceberg and one of many examples of how the people had fallen into idolatry.

After warning about the children, the LORD went on in Leviticus 20:6 to warn that He would punish people who placed their trust in mediums or who consulted with the spirits of the dead.

God’s Warning about the Children
In our devotionals last week, we talked about how the Lord has a very tender heart for the children. We read in Matthew 18:6-7 where Jesus warned about the severe punishment that would fall upon anyone who harmed the children. Yesterday, the Lord brought to my attention a
connection from the Law of Moses to this severe warning that Jesus gave about harming children. That Old Testament warning will be the devotional scripture that we will read this morning.

After liberating His people from captivity in Egypt and taking them to the land that He had
