🧵Campus protest thread here.

I’ve received lots of calls & emails in recent days related to this testimony from 2016.

I testified again last year on the same topic

Both about a group called American Muslims for Palestine.docs.house.gov/meetings/FA/FA…
gop-waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/upl…
If you don’t want to read the full testimonies, this piece by Bret Stephens when he was at the @WSJ.

Bottom line: AMP is populated by people who previously worked for Hamas charities that were shut down in America.

wsj.com/articles/the-a…
@WSJ AMP has been funding Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) for years.

AMP spent $100k in 2014 on campus activity.

Here is a photo of SJP students with “Happy Gilmore”sized checks from AMP in 2016. Image
@WSJ AMP has a campus outreach coordinator. Here he is at Rutgers last year. Image
@WSJ But the AMP guy who created the concept is Hatem Bazian. He forged the first SJP at Berkeley. There are now 200+ SJP groups nationwide.

Here’s Bazian at SDSU and Berkeley amidst the current war.
Image
Image
@WSJ There are some questions I also have about Bazian’s involvement with Jewish Voices for Peace. He appears to control their social media account…. Image
@WSJ But the guy who concerns me right now is Osama Abu Irshaid. He is AMP’s executive director. He has been on the campuses of Columbia and GW, literally driving the protests and the chants.
Image
Image
@WSJ Then we see him going live here on the Qatar-owned Al-Jazeera network from the @GWtweets campus protests… Image
@WSJ @GWtweets Osama Abu Irshaid figured prominently on the Hamas military wing’s website in 2014 during the 51-day war with Israel. Why did they feature him? Image
@WSJ @GWtweets And then there is the strange matter of this tweet from convicted Palestinian Islamic Jihad financier Sami Al-Arian, who boasted that his wife was at the @Columbia protests Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia Sami Al-Arian and Osama Abu Irshaid have a long association. Here’s a photo of them back in 2015, right before Al-Arian was deported to Turkey. Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia Al-Arian’s daughter used to work for AMP, doing media and communications work for the group. Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia Al-Arian and Abu Irshaid have been hanging out in Turkey in recent years under the auspices of Al-Arian’s new organization called CIGA. Hamas and former Hamas charity figures have attended Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia The whole Turkey thing is odd, primarily because Turkey is now a major Hamas headquarters. And here is Osama Abu Irshaid meeting with @RTErdogan Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia @RTErdogan Bottom line? I can’t connect all the dots. But I can say this. AMP is directly involved in the campus chaos. And AMP’s history concerns me. This visual sort of sums it up. Image
@WSJ @GWtweets @Columbia @RTErdogan I’ll end my thread here.

Suffice it to say, the campus chaos is not spontaneous. Nor is it organic.

This seems like something that universities should be aware of. Other authorities, too.

I’m around today for journalists looking to learn more. DMs open. Image

Americans will wake up today & learn that Hamas murdered another 6 Israeli hostages, including one American-Israeli whose story was highlighted at the DNC.

Some thoughts to follow that will *not* focus on the heartbreak/trauma in Israel.

Let’s focus on who bears responsibility.
First, let’s all acknowledge that this war is not just Hamas vs Israel. Hamas is an Iranian tool. The group was trained, funded and armed by Iran.

Iran should be held to account for all of it, including but not only for the crimes against American citizens.
But it’s not just Iran.

Qatar is a not a neutral player, as it claims.

Qatar is a major financial patron and HQ for Hamas

Qatar should be stripped of its status as a US ally. It should be labeled a state sponsor of terror.

The families must sue Qatar for all they can get.

🧵Having reflected upon Biden’s arms embargo on Israel, I can share the following observations:

Biden is desperate to prevent a wider war.

I believe he is not as concerned about Rafah as he is about Iran, Hezbollah and the Houthis.
When Israel moves in to finish off Hamas, Iran and its proxies will unleash on Israel and probably the US.

In other words, rather than the US gaining leverage on Tehran and its proxies, Tehran has gained leverage over the White House.

Biden has never been a profile in courage…
He was famously one of the lone voices against the Bin Laden operation.

But he’s even more afraid of conflict now, at the height of election season in America.

So without any leverage on Iran or its proxies, Biden is controlling the only player he can: Israel.

Saleh Al-Arouri, one of Hamas’s top officials, has reportedly been taken out in Lebanon. kan.org.il/content/kan-ne…
Arouri was designated by the US Treasury.

He was also on the Rewards for Justice Program. home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel…
2017-2021.state.gov/rewards-for-ju…
In 2014, Arouri claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and killing of 3 teens in the West Bank. That Hamas operation led to a 51-day war between Hamas and Israel.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my followers.

I've just put my Turkey in the oven. So, it's now time to revive a Turkey Day tradition.

Something is rotten in Turkey. Lots of things, actually. Let's review.

A thread….
I started watching Turkey's terror activity in 2010. That year Turkey sent a flotilla to Gaza to help the Hamas terrorist organization break out of isolation.

An NGO called IHH organized. IHH is nasty, with all kinds of terror ties. I analyzed here:

washingtonexaminer.com/weekly-standar…
IHH is still up to no good. The group recently organized a massive riot at the gates of the Incirilik air base, where US servicemen maintain a base that is crucial to American interests in the Middle East.

20 days after war was declared, Israeli officials and media are signaling that Gaza ground maneuvers are drawing near. Chapter 2 of this horrific saga is set to begin.
A few observations on what lies ahead:

1. The early hours of the ground maneuver will reveal whether Iran/Hamas planned additional surprises when they launched the war on 10/7

2. The IDF will reportedly engage differently than in previous ground wars. New tactics expected.
3. American deterrence will be tested, with Hezbollah expected to fire upon Israel in greater numbers, and Iranian proxies expected to target American assets

4. I’ll be watching the West Bank and Syria as other fronts Iran might activate after ground ops begin

Now that the Ashli hospital flap is over, the media must prepare for a story that will be difficult to navigate. The Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City is also the command center for Hamas. At some point, it will be an Israeli target. A legitimate military target, per the laws of war
There will be massive information operations when this command center is targeted. Al-Jazeera and others will lead the charge. They will ignore that Mohammed Deif & Yahya Sinwar are there, among other Hamas military . I strongly recommend reporters start gathering facts now.
Among other things, media should gather info on the underground of the al-Shifa compound, Mohammed Deif, Yahya Sinwar, American human shields legislation, NATO-UN views on human shields & Hamas info ops.

War is ugly. This very predictable episode will only underscore that.
