12/ Someone asked me if abortion rights can still be saved w/o expanding SCOTUS or right wing justices retiring & being replaced. The answer is possibly yes bc it’s not clear that Roberts & Kavanaugh will agree w/ their “fetal personhood” argument, as wld be necessary 4 SCOTUS to take the issue from the states. The other anti-choice strategies depend on election outcomes.
13/ Given the timing, I suspect that Trump may have “retired” Justice Kennedy as a “favor” to the religious right bc Kennedy had apparently sided with the liberal justices on abortion rights in the past.

Seems that Harrison Butker & Catholic influencer Austin Wright co-founded a company called MDKeller whose “team” includes people w/ ties to the Heritage Foundation (Project 2025), the Federalist Society (tied to Leonard Leo), Catholic University (tied to Leonard Leo), & the Blackstone Legal Fellowship (tied to the Alliance Defending Freedom). Portions of MDKeller’s website were scrubbed today or yesterday after a social media user posted about it. 1/

Evangelist Kirk Cameron & Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer Erin Hawley (Josh Hawley’s wife) openly discuss the Christian Right’s post-Roe plan to lay the groundwork for SCOTUS to ban abortion in all 50 states on the basis that a fetus is a “person” under the 14th Amendment. 1/

Even after the GOP stole that SCOTUS seat from Obama, the Christian Right did not have enough SCOTUS justices to reverse Roe. This changed w/ the “surprise” retirement of Justice Kennedy who had often voted to support abortion rights, per Christian Right lawyer Josh Bursch. 1/
John Bursch is an attorney w/ the Alliance Defending Freedom, which helped lead the effort to overturn Roe. Here’s where I got the clip in post 1. It’s from an interview of Bursch by the Catholic Information Center where Leonard Leo sits on the board. 2/

3/ What Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorney John Bursch didn’t mention is that the ADF drafted the Mississippi law that led to the Dobbs case on which the ADF then served as “silent co-counsel.” Like a well-oiled machine.
