@elonmusk @ModdedQuad Elon, you DO realize that you don't NEED to make that complex connection between your device and the human brain?

Take that SAME information that you're signaling into the connection. The SAME blips of electricity and convert it into light morse code.

@elonmusk @ModdedQuad Use that light version of morse code and shine it into a patient's eyes. You will have delivered that million bits of information to the patient. That patient converted those bits of light and it registered in the occipital cortex of the brain.

@elonmusk @ModdedQuad JUST because you DELIVERED massive amounts of information to the patient, either via your NEURALINK or via the conversion of all that data into light pulses and delivered to a patient's occipital cortex via his VISION, it does NOT mean EITHER patient can process that info.

@elonmusk @ModdedQuad The human brain is trained by our educational system for 20 years to interpret these letters/words into something meaningful. We understand when we see a dog what a dog is because of our very long experience with seeing dogs. We understand words that way.

@elonmusk @ModdedQuad Imagine someone who has never learned the alphabet, who has no idea how to read, and you flash 60 words a minute in front of his vision.

You are going to claim you DID input 60 words a minute into that person's brain. Doesn't matter at all.

Even if you CAN deliver all your electrical signals PERFECTLY to the brain, which is practically impossible, it doesn't even MATTER.

But, to initiate THOUGHT? That can NEVER be compared to activating MOVEMENT via sending an electrical pulse to a MUSCLE

The fingers run across patterns of dots. The information DOES go into the brain from the fingertips passing over all these elevated dots. Doesn't matter. It takes YEARS of training to even begin to read 20 words a minute with Braille.

@elonmusk @ModdedQuad and? Is it easy? It is probably one of the most difficult things on earth to master as an adult. Even as a child it is incredibly difficult and no child learns it, unless one is FORCED to because of blindness.
