A U.S. Citizen living abroad reached out & asked for help to shine a light on what’s preventing him from legally returning to the U.S. from Japan with his beautiful little family.

He’s not alone—this problem is impacting U.S. Citizens & their families around the world.

2) “I’m a U.S. citizen that's basically stranded outside of the country because my wife [a non-U.S. citizen] is being refused an immigration visa,” his message to me said.

3) Kion, an American citizen who’s been in Japan for more than a decade, met his wife while studying abroad at a language school in Japan around 2009.

“We've been married for about 15 years,” he said, “& our visa in Japan runs out next year.”

4) “After starting a family we realized we needed more of a support network, so we planned to move back to the states.

We started the paperwork about 3 years ago, at the start of the pandemic hoping the madness would be over by the time we got the immigration visa.”

5) Kion continued, “I thought that since we were moving back, I should look for jobs in the states, and never expected to be stuck this long.”

Because of this, Kion landed a job working remote for a start-up company based in Austin, TX.

6) The reason Kion’s his wife’s Visa is being denied is due to @DHSgov @CDCgov, @CDCDirector’s immigration requirement for LEGAL immigrants to show proof a C-19 shot within the last 12 mos. despite the known risks of harm, as well as knowing its inability to prevent disease.

@DHSgov @CDCgov @CDCDirector 7) During a time of an unprecedented amount of people entering the U.S. illegally who don’t have to show their vaccination status—while demanding those entering legally have to get a vaccine that does not prevent the spread of disease makes no logical sense.

8) In Jan. 2023, the CDC Dir. of Immunization Safety admitted C-19 shots can cause "debilitating illnesses” & said “we are aware of these reports of people experiencing long-lasting health problems following Covid vaccination"

Yet, DHS & CDC still forces it on LEGAL immigrants.

9) Strangely, the Biden Admin lifted this requirement for tourists last year, but not for people hoping to enter the U.S. legally—even those with a husband and children who have a U.S. Citizenship.

10) Kion shared with me that it’s now his “morning ritual to open this page to see if by some miracle it's been updated,” in hopes the illogical & inhumane medicinal requirement has been lifted. cc: @CDCDirector

@CDCDirector 11) And Kion and his family are running out of time—his Visa in Japan expires next year.

@CDCDirector 12) Kion hopes that the U.S. government doesn’t retaliate for him speaking out about this, but is simply hoping more can be done to address it. No one should be forced to get a medical intervention that’s known to have severe health risks which outweigh potential benefit.

@CDCDirector 13) “The rules are as I understand it. All applicants 6 mo. or older must get [a Covid-19 shot]. Pregnancy is not an exemption. Flat out refusal of the jab makes you 'inadmissible' and your [application] goes in the trash,” Kion said.

@CDCDirector 14) “The only way that I know of to get around the requirement is a religious/moral exemption where you have to ask USCIS for special permission not to get the jab. Which USCIS can turn down completely [depending on] the officer looking at the waiver.”

@CDCDirector 15) To hear an American citizen say: “I’d rather live in Mexico if my country is committing human rights abuse against my family” is absolutely devastating.

Especially knowing our borders have been wide open for months with no such requirements for entering illegally.

@CDCDirector 16) In order to help remedy this for Kion & his family and the many others impacted—we the people need to call on Congress to pass HR-4726, a bill @RepThomasMassie introduced back in July 2023 that’s now likely sitting on a shelf somewhere.

@CDCDirector @RepThomasMassie 17) As of April 26, 2024, over 2.6 million adverse events have been reported in the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System [VAERS] showing multiple safety signals that would cause anyone aware of such risk to pause before taking this shot.
