This is the heartwarming story of a street dog named Joy.
She was badly injured and we brought her in for treatment.
The only problem is she refused to stay back on the streets and comes back daily to visit her friends… (1/7) 🧵
Joy lives less than a mile from where we are based in the jungle. A friend spotted her on the way in. Her wound was bad and we think caused by either barbed wire or a dog bite.
She had to stay with us for 2 weeks and have several vet visits but all was well (2/7)
Joy was actually a model patient. We just had to come up with lots of ways to keep the wound clean like her own pyjamas and various bandages.
After about 15-18 days it had closed. She made lots of friends with both humans and the other dogs (3/7)
We took Joy home to her house. She lives with local migrant workers who take great care of their dogs with little resources. She was happy to be home and they were delighted to see her. It was a job well done and we thought that was it for Joy. We were wrong 😂 (4/7)
A couple of days later Joy was back. She started arriving at 6am when we get there. She would be waiting every single morning. We tried dropping her back but she knew her way between her 2 homes.
Joy is now there every single morning (5/7)
She has breakfast with us. She goes into the play area with her 3 best friends. She plays all morning and then rests there with them.
In the evening she’ll have her dinner and just as the others are going into their beds she trots off home. Her family are home from work (6/7)
Joy effectively just checks herself in daily to doggy day care resort. In her little head I think she is going off to see her friends.
Dogs are creatures of extreme habit. Who are we to change her routine 😅
See you tomorrow morning Joy 🥰 (7/7)

Little Stella had string tired around her neck as a puppy. She barely survived until we saved her 10 days ago.
Today Stella went on her first ever walk and it was glorious 🌺 🐕 ❤️ (1/6) 🧵
This was her a week ago. She was in agony and she wouldn’t even look at us. If we got close she’d try to bite us. The world had been cruel to little Stella but she’s been making insane progress this week (2/6)
The main reason she was able to come on a walk was her very good friends Rusty and Libby. They’ve given her great confidence that all is not bad in the world.
Libby has been alone and scared until now. She’s not 8 months old though and she came alive today (3/6)
You probably follow me for helping street dogs like OREO. Today something very different that I hope might help even one person.
I suffer from depression and on Monday had one of the worst panic attacks I’ve had in years.
A look into that world (1/8) 🧵
Helping dogs is massively emotionally challenging. Dogs like Hank, Billy, Super Mario, Rusty and Stella are great by the time they make it here but I often hide the tougher stuff.
If been battling for about a month but kept the show on the road for them (2/8)
This is me today. On Monday I had a horrific panic attack. What is a panic attack? Well for me…
🫀Feeling your heart racing
🦵 I got an insane cramp in my leg that I’ve never felt before
🫁 Asthma attack
🧠 Such a bad migraine I couldn’t open my eyes
🪦 Such bad anxiety you are convinced you will die. This lasted for about 45 minutes
📉 After the panic attack the body absolutely crashed and depression starts (3/8)
This is the incredible story of how Stella improved so drastically in a week after coming in with her horrific injury.
We thought it would take weeks or months to recover but she took matters into her own hands and had help from a very special new friend (1/7) 🧵
Stella came in with string tied around her neck. The vets sedated her to get it off and we were keeping her in a kennel to slowly help her recover.
We couldn’t touch her and she was still snappy. The wound started to heal up very fast with proper care (2/7)
I had a whole video about her on Saturday explaining how long it would take. We had to keep her locked up and cleaning her wound was very tough. She didn’t like the world around her. It was going to take time.
Little Stella is a street dog who had string tied around her neck as a little puppy.
As she grew it slowly tightened. We rescued her on Friday and she was very traumatized.
It’s day 4 and we are starting to see some nice progress (1/6) 🧵
We’ve kept her in her little suite while her wound heals. It means cleaning around her and puppy pads for toilets. People still stress her but we are letting her decompress.
🧼 One person distracts while the other cleans.
💊 Her medicines are hidden in sausages (2/6)
The vets did all the cleaning of the wounds under sedation which was a great start. The string was removed.
We obviously can’t sedate her every single time and she’s very snappy with us so we have to find new ways to clean the wound (3/6)
OREO said he wanted to thank everybody for their support.
At many times over the last 2 weeks we didn’t think he would make it but today he was able to check out for his next stage of recovery
He’s put us all through massive anxiety but OREO lives 🙏🙏
(1/6) 🧵
When he collapsed that first morning I was sure he was done. I’ve seen enough dogs die and the signs for him and his blood was horrific. In my own head I didn’t give him more than 1% chance of living. But getting him the blood transfusions and oxygen saved his life (2/6)
After 9 days in the vets OREO came to the land but I still wasn’t super hopeful. We had to make the decision to take him out of the vets with the bill at $2000. OREO was going to have to use his body and medicines to fight the battle. Luckily he was up for it… (3/6)
A little Super Mario story that will leave you beaming with happiness.
He’s been recovering since he was attacked and today this brave little boy wanted to show off a new trick… (1/5) 🧵
Mario had been so badly beaten up by a human he had a broken leg, bruising all over and several other injuries. We got him all fixed up at the hospital and he’s back with us.
He was in so much pain but I can’t believe how he’s bouncing back…(2/5)
He comes on walks with me and all the dogs every single day. This is his new trick…
When his little legs get too tired he now knows how to hop up on the scooter. The smartest little boy there ever was (3/5)
