The same set of library shelves that are on fire in the background of the photo shared by Younis can be seen in an Instagram story saved by the IUG/Aqsa University Central Library in 2022.
Another note on this since there are people claiming it's AI-generated (?).
You can see matching visuals in other photos from the IUG Central Library's FB page, such as a matching "No Cell Phone" sign that appears to be in a different section.
And just further annotation for the 2022 Instagram video screenshot, in case people are missing what lines up...
While some of the tape on the shelves appears to have been removed over the years (bottom shelves in #37) one tape in particular has the same rip pattern on it.
Also, for the claims that the Central Library was destroyed in February, it's still standing as of May 19 @planet imagery.
That's not to say Al-Aqsa University wasn't heavily damaged, it was, but the library wasn't flattened.
Some additional context to add to this thread — @ytirawi has shared a screenshot of the Instagram account of the IDF soldier who originally shared the book burning photo.
The account has since been made private, though Younis took a screenshot before.
Video of IDF bulldozer carving "66" and a Star of David into the land is visible in @planet imagery from January 19 in southern Gaza near Al Qarara and the Kisufim Road at 31.379082, 34.353045. Video was filmed between Jan 19 and Jan 16.
Note: Number likely an "86" — apparently a reference to an Israeli social media New Years trend referring to January 1st as "October 86th" since hostages have not been returned yet.
Given this video was filmed in January, it'd make sense there'd be a reference to the trend.
Also not the first Star of David the IDF has carved into Gaza's land. There are a few examples from up north in the first months of the ground invasion.
Nov21 @planet SkySat at 31.543249, 34.544399, near Beit Hanoun. Star of David & what seems to be an attempt at some numbers.
Hamas military statement claims they’re still active in southern Israeli cities including Mishmar Hanegev, Netivot and Ofakim while “engaged in fierce confrontations in Be'eri and Sderot”.
Evidence for this comes from two videos from a Moscow broadcaster showing the strikes.
In the first, the Spasskaya Tower clock shows the time at ~2:27am and shows the drone splash fire on the domed Kremlin building. tvc.ru/news/show/id/2…
In the second video, the time on the Spasskaya Tower clock sits at around 2:43am. You can also see the drone impact more closely resembles the impact in the video with the people present (closer to flagpole, no splash of fire on the roof).
Also includes some conversations Jack had with other users once his images started making the rounds outside the servers he was active in.
And there's the farewell message he wrote in March that @AricToler already dug up.
Part of the government's argument that Teixeira is a flight risk is that they found a destroyed Xbox, tablet and laptop in a dumpster at his home and say that it shows that he was destroying evidence.
Appears that Ukrainian forces are back in control of Sviatohirsk. Images shared online show the Ukrainian flag at the city council building and soldiers in the city across the river from the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
There are also photos/videos from Bohorodychne nearby. This video shows what's left of the city's monastery buildings, one of which was destroyed on May 17 by an apparent Russian cruise missile strike.
