Russian banks are collapsing after the sweeping new sanctions that the US rolled out on Wednesday.

2/ The US is expanding the scope of its crackdown on foreign financial institutions that do business in russia, including a major escalation of efforts to go after foreign banks that are helping to finance the russia’s war effort.
3/ Russia's central bank has already stopped trading in USD and EUR on Moscow Exchange. Viral videos are showing long lines of russians forming at money changers, trying to buy some USD and EUR. Despite tight control over the exchange rate by Kremlin, russian Ruble is collapsing.

the ban on the transfer of American weapons to Azov brigade, which had been in effect since 2017. This is an important defeat of russian propaganda and the western journalists who were spreading it.

2/ Azov was formed in response to russia's invasions of Crimea and Donbas in 2014. Azov began as a militia group made up of football fans, who pushed the russian occupiers out of Mariupol.
3/ In response, Moscow began an initiative to slander Azov as “𝐍𝐞𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐬” as an effective method to reduce international support for Ukraine. Often using symbols taken out of context and cheap photoshops to “prove” their false narratives.

Anyone who says that NATO provoked russia to attack Ukraine is either stupid, brainwashed or simply doesn’t know the history.

2/ Until 2013, only about 20-30% of Ukrainians (depending on the poll) were in favor of joining NATO. After the annexation of Crimea, that number went up to more than 50%. And now, after the full scale invasion, close to 90% of Ukrainians say that they want Ukraine to join NATO.
3/ Also, it was russian aggression that forced Sweden and Finland to join NATO. It is russian aggression that has prompted other countries to join NATO not “NATO’s expansion” forcing russia to attack the neighboring countries.

In a recent interview, Garry Kasparov, one of the best chess players of all time and a russian dissident who stood up to Putin, said that Ukraine is doing what NATO was designed to: protect free Europe from russian authoritarianism.

2/ Kasparov is one of the few russian dissidents who believes in victory for Ukraine. But he is upset that, despite Ukraine's defense of the West, the West still won’t give Ukraine the permissions and tools needed to win.
3/ Washington doesn’t even speak the language of victory. Instead, the White House says: “‘We will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes.” Kasparov adds that these words are “nonsense because this sentence is very ambiguous.”
