IAS officer Devarakonda Krishna Bhaskar, the mastermind behind this success story, tackled water scarcity head-on.

To tackle water scarcity, the district launched a programme, including restoring old tanks and setting up modern piped water systems.

They also acquired land for reservoirs, cleaned existing water bodies, dug trenches, and expanded water storage capacity.
These combined efforts, along with the smart use of Government programmes, resulted in a significant increase in groundwater levels.

“The levels rose steadily over 12 to 18 months. The figures have been confirmed and documented by the groundwater survey authorities,” he adds.
