This is totally a fine view. Go build a ton of asynchronous environments. The more the merrier. The two cool problems that I want to solve are
A) one giant synchronous state machine for everything
B) synchronizing all the important bits for that state machine as fast as physics allow
If a tuna ship in Alaska sinks and that impacts tuna prices in NYC and Tokyo, that news has to travel to those markets. I want a concurrent solana block producer in Alaska already transmitting the transactions for the price impact of that news across all the markets in solana’s global state machine.
So by the time that news wire hits nyc and tokio the markets in the global state machine are already changed. There should be no arbitrage available between the global synchronized state machine and all the asynchronous systems out there no matter how fast those systems are.
How much value will this create to the world? Who knows. But this is all possible with open source software and open protocols running on permissionless commodity hardware with nothing fancier than a 10gbps link. So it will get built no matter what.
