Government advisers too accepted payments from Covid vaccine and treatment manufacturers

It wasn't just our celebrity doctors...

In fact, these conflicts extend to
key figures within government oversight and advisory committees. Thread 🧵 Image
1. Professor Christopher Brightling

Brightling, a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, was a member of SAGE, who advised both the govt and members of the House of Lords on Covid and related treatments. Image
In Dec 2021, during a TalkTV appearance, he discussed the Omicron variant, stressing the importance of vaccination as the strain might bypass "some natural immunity".
That same month, data from the ONS showed that those who were triple-vaccinated were more than 4x more likely to test positive for Omicron. Image
According to ABPI disclosures, AstraZeneca paid Brightling £2,475 in 2020, £2,250 in 2021, & £9,884.47 in 2022. Sanofi Aventis, collaborator of BioNTech/Pfizer's mRNA jab, paid him a further £13,681 in 2020, £9,209 in 2021, & £1,062. Image
Interestingly, these payments were not listed in Brightling's registered interests on the UK government website.

Some payments predate the last update for declaring interests in March 2022.

Either he omitted them or the govt did.

2. Professor Wei Shen Lim

Lim is a consultant respiratory physician who served as the Deputy Chair and Covid-19 Committee Chair of the JVCI. He was also a member of SAGE. Image
In Aug 2021, Lim dismissed concerns over adverse events caused by Pfizer's jab during a press conference. He said the increase in myocarditis reports was not indicative of a causal relationship with the jab but a consequence of more data from the vast no. of ppl getting jabbed.
During the same press briefing, where the JVCI recommended C jabs for healthy teenagers, Lim made a point of saying that 16-yr-old do not need parental consent to receive the vaccine, even though they're not considered legal adults.
According to information logged on the British Thoracic Society's website, Pfizer paid Lim over £25,001.00 months after.

Curiously, this payment is notably absent from the ABPI database. Meaning, Lim may have requested for its omission, as the ABPI allows.

3. Professor Jeremy Brown

Brown, a clinician scientist specialising in respiratory infections, was an influential figure in directing the UK government's Covid response. He joined the JCVI in 2018 and is a member of several editorial boards in the scientific community. Image
During 2021 and 2022, Brown was a frequent guest on TalkRadio, where he amplified Covid risks.

In an interview in Jan 2021, he stated the alternative to lockdown is “allowing every hospital to be completely filled with very severe lung infection due to coronavirus".
According to ABPI, Brown received £1,400.00 from Gilead Sciences, the manufacturer of the antiviral drug Remdesivir, in 2021.

Starting in May 2020, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) began purchasing and administering Remdesivir to select Covid patients.

Brown was a member of a committee that influenced NHS and government policy, which led to the acquisition of Remdesivir, a product from a company that compensated him shortly thereafter.
Brown consistently emphasised the risks of Covid infection, which indirectly supported Gilead’s efforts to market their repurposed antiviral as a Covid treatment globally. Image
In 2022, Gilead’s Remdesivir faced controversy over severe, potentially fatal side effects. U.S. hospitals, incentivised by government funds, widely used it during the pandemic, allegedly leading to patient deaths and multiple lawsuits. Image

Essex Police have been up to some astonishing things...

At the centre of it? One man, whom most have probably never heard of.

Ben-Julian Harrington, Chief Constable of Essex Police.

His force's conduct might leave you speechless.

What’s happening in Portsmouth shows just how far we still are from putting public safety before politics.

Certain councils—and even local media—are still making the same “mistakes” that led to the scandal.

Updates on the asylum seeker sexual assault "cover-up" in Portsmouth.

The independent councillor who blew the whistle on a council chief executive’s alleged attempt to cover up a r*pe charge has now confirmed she is under formal investigation. Image

This is Councillor @georgedmadgwick

He recently blew the whistle on Portsmouth City Council.

Why? Because senior officials tried to suppress news that an asylum seeker—housed at public expense—had been charged with r*pe.

The essential dets and peeps involved. Thread 🧵 Image
It all began last week, when rumours that an asylum-seeker had committed a r*pe circulated online. In response, council officials held private briefings with various councillors and party leaders. Image
That’s when a senior officer contacted George directly. “She called me during the day and said, ‘George, I must make it very clear to you: you're not to discuss this with anyone,’” he recalled. Image

The UK Home Office has come under heavy fire of late.

The recent "right-wing" terrorist definitions being a case in point...

But behind-the-scenes, they've been up to much more and worse.

Our American cousins might look on in disbelief.

Thread (Part 4) 🧵 Image
There was so much to cover here I had to break it into four parts.

This is the last, part four — Bureaucratic Activism.
While manipulating data and blocking FOIs (part two) can signal a department’s priorities, it’s the overt activism that makes them unmistakably clear. Image

The Home Office and our counter-terrorism units have come under heavy fire of late.

The "right-wing" terrorist definitions being a case in point.

But behind-the-scenes, they've been up to much more and worse.

Others countries might look on in shock.

Thread (Part 3) 🧵 Image
There was so damn much to cover here I had to break it into four parts.

Consider this part three — Incompetence and/or Negligence and Waste
Now, a consistent factor driving Home Office conduct appears to be sheer incompetence—or outright negligence, or a combination of the two.

Little else explains how epic some of their failures have been. Image
