Government advisers too accepted payments from Covid vaccine and treatment manufacturers
It wasn't just our celebrity doctors...
In fact, these conflicts extend to
key figures within government oversight and advisory committees. Thread 🧵
1. Professor Christopher Brightling
Brightling, a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, was a member of SAGE, who advised both the govt and members of the House of Lords on Covid and related treatments.
In Dec 2021, during a TalkTV appearance, he discussed the Omicron variant, stressing the importance of vaccination as the strain might bypass "some natural immunity".
That same month, data from the ONS showed that those who were triple-vaccinated were more than 4x more likely to test positive for Omicron.
According to ABPI disclosures, AstraZeneca paid Brightling £2,475 in 2020, £2,250 in 2021, & £9,884.47 in 2022. Sanofi Aventis, collaborator of BioNTech/Pfizer's mRNA jab, paid him a further £13,681 in 2020, £9,209 in 2021, & £1,062.
Interestingly, these payments were not listed in Brightling's registered interests on the UK government website.
Some payments predate the last update for declaring interests in March 2022.
Either he omitted them or the govt did.
2. Professor Wei Shen Lim
Lim is a consultant respiratory physician who served as the Deputy Chair and Covid-19 Committee Chair of the JVCI. He was also a member of SAGE.
In Aug 2021, Lim dismissed concerns over adverse events caused by Pfizer's jab during a press conference. He said the increase in myocarditis reports was not indicative of a causal relationship with the jab but a consequence of more data from the vast no. of ppl getting jabbed.
During the same press briefing, where the JVCI recommended C jabs for healthy teenagers, Lim made a point of saying that 16-yr-old do not need parental consent to receive the vaccine, even though they're not considered legal adults.
According to information logged on the British Thoracic Society's website, Pfizer paid Lim over £25,001.00 months after.
Curiously, this payment is notably absent from the ABPI database. Meaning, Lim may have requested for its omission, as the ABPI allows.
3. Professor Jeremy Brown
Brown, a clinician scientist specialising in respiratory infections, was an influential figure in directing the UK government's Covid response. He joined the JCVI in 2018 and is a member of several editorial boards in the scientific community.
During 2021 and 2022, Brown was a frequent guest on TalkRadio, where he amplified Covid risks.
In an interview in Jan 2021, he stated the alternative to lockdown is “allowing every hospital to be completely filled with very severe lung infection due to coronavirus".
According to ABPI, Brown received £1,400.00 from Gilead Sciences, the manufacturer of the antiviral drug Remdesivir, in 2021.
Starting in May 2020, the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) began purchasing and administering Remdesivir to select Covid patients.
Brown was a member of a committee that influenced NHS and government policy, which led to the acquisition of Remdesivir, a product from a company that compensated him shortly thereafter.
Brown consistently emphasised the risks of Covid infection, which indirectly supported Gilead’s efforts to market their repurposed antiviral as a Covid treatment globally.
In 2022, Gilead’s Remdesivir faced controversy over severe, potentially fatal side effects. U.S. hospitals, incentivised by government funds, widely used it during the pandemic, allegedly leading to patient deaths and multiple lawsuits.

If Muslims were treated like Christians, parts of Britain would likely be on fire by now.
A look at the quiet "war" authorities are waging against British Christians.
Thread 🧵
Back in May, The Telegraph published a curious report about a group of Christians in south-west London. It didn’t make much of a splash online, but it marked a shift in the way our authorities are dealing with religious advocacy.
The Labour-run Rushmoor Borough Council had attempted to secure an injunction to ban Christians not just from preaching in two local town centres, but from praying and handing out leaflets altogether.
It’s been about a year since the non-violent Southport protestors were arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced en masse.
It remains one of the most aggressive crackdowns on free speech in modern Britain.
So where are they now, a year on?
Here’s a look.
Thread 🧵
For clarity, it seems right to lay out how the Southport protestors' treatment by the police, CPS, and judiciary fundamentally differed from other cases.
Let's start with the evidence of "two-tier policing"...
In Whitehall, the Metropolian Police kettled and arbitrarily arrested protestors. One observer has since successfully sued them for unlawfully detaining him for 20.5 hours. He also claimed they arrested attendees before a dispersal order came into effect.
It appears British authorities have once again chosen to "cover up" the asylum seeker background of a suspected r*pist ...
The finer details about the case and why it spells trouble for Labour's plan.
Thread 🧵
Two reported Afghan asylum seekers have been charged over the alleged r*pe of a 12-year-old white girl, sending shockwaves through the small Midlands town of Nuneaton. The Mail on Sunday broke the story on Friday.
Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, stands accused of r*ping the underage girl, while a second man, Mohammad Kabir, also 23, has been charged with aiding and abetting r*pe, as well as strangulation and kidnap. The girl is now receiving specialist care.
He’s Keir Starmer’s Science Secretary—a rising figure in Labour’s front bench.
Turns out, he has quite a few skeletons in his closet.

Earlier today, Peter Kyle—the minister responsible for UK technology policy—did the media rounds promoting the government’s new age verification rules under the Online Safety Act.
These are the provisions now “age-gating” the internet, requiring users to hand over personal information to access what the state deems dangerous content.
When you step back and look at the events of the last week…
It’s not just that the British establishment is out of touch.
It’s that it increasingly seems like they hold so many of their own people in utter contempt.
Some would say we're a nation in pain.
Thread 🧵
The last few days have exposed some of the most disturbing responses yet from our political establishment and authorities—triggered by growing backlash over immigration, crime, the economy, and the erosion of free speech.
First, we had the protests in Epping, Essex, where a recently arrived Ethiopian “asylum seeker” allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
