People calling for @VP and the Cabinet to "25th amendment" Biden really need to read Section 4. It is a procedural nightmare. Here it is in a nutshell: 1. Harris and a majority of the Cabinet declare to Congress that Biden "unable to discharge his duties. Harris is POTUS. 1/x
2. Immediately, Edith Wil... er... Dr. Jill has Biden sign a letter stating that "no inability exists." Biden is POTUS, again.
That puts Harris and the Cabinet rebels in a bind, because "he's back and she's pissed" So...
3. So, they send another letter within 4 days to Congress asserting "No, really. He is incapable. Harris has to be president."
At this point, it gets really fun. 3/x
Because Congress then gets to decide. The two chambers have 21 days -three weeks!- to choose between the two, and it takes a 2/3rd vote of both to permanently remove Joe. Imagine what our politics would be like during all this. 🤯😱☠️4/x
This came up during Trump's administration, and the flaws in the 25th were pointed out then. I'm surprised people have forgotten. 5/5
