Our party voted for him. He’s one of the great American presidents. He beat Trump in 2020 and will beat him again. He polls better against Trump than anyone else in the party.
F*cking with our votes and deposing our leader is a grave mistake.
There’s *zero* evidence—not a *shred* of evidence *anywhere*—that Harris, Pritzker, Newsom, Moore, Shapiro, Whitmer, or any other Democrat can defeat Trump. Their polling is worse and they’ve no path to victory. Think otherwise? *You’re* the one living in a fantasy world, not us.
I’m sick and f*cking tired of being told Biden supporters have blinders on—even as those contesting our position have *no* polls to point to, *no* history to point to, and *no* medical records to point to to support their position. Indeed, *all* the *facts* are on the other side.
No one polls better than Biden. Parties that switch horses this late *lose*—*every goddamn time*. America is racist and misogynistic and is *champing at the bit* to pull the same sh*t on Harris or Shapiro or Pritzer or Whitmer or Moore that they did to Clinton. Know your country.
The presidential race is close because America is a f*cked-up country that’s obsessed with Trump right now—largely because media made him, media needs him, and media sustains him. The people saying President Biden is the problem are the assholes who gave us Trump to begin with.
If you have some little princess fantasy in your head of the swooningly perfect candidate everyone will just *adore* and *no one* will *attack*, you are a f*cking child and I have no use for you. *You* are the delusional onanistic imbecile, not people who see the score as it is.
Here’s the score: Donald Trump thinks only a white guy can beat him and God help us it *sucks* but right now he’s right. That’s why we need a man who’s beaten him (handily) before, has the bully pulpit, has the gravitas of the presidency, and polls better against him than anyone.
This election will be close as hell. It was *always* going to be close as hell because America sucks right now—half of us were conned by a born loser with ten layers of orange bronzer on his disgusting face. Your *fantasy* that this would be easy with somebody else is *pathetic*.
Is it possible democracy will lose? You bet your *ass* it is. Because—see prior tweets—America sucks right now. But the fact that this’ll be neck and neck *doesn’t logically equate* to someone else have a better shot than Biden.
That math doesn’t math because it’s *wishcasting*.
You want to be like Trump and try to undo a national vote? You want to spit in the face of your own voters? You want to fall into an *obvious MAGA trap*? You want to show the sort of fecklessness MAGAs think all Democrats natively possess? You want to be led by the nose by media?
We can’t stop you in most of those things, as none of us can pull a lever to keep others from being f*cknuts.
But *don’t* f*cking lie to our faces and say the polls support your coup; they don’t.
*Don’t* say history says you’re right—as in fact it says you’re courting disaster.
And it’s already been established that President Biden has no cognitive issues—read the medical report from February yourself—and that his issues in June are behind him because they were caused by a foreign trip schedule *even the NYT says* would’ve devastated a man half his age.
You want to do a coup because some billionaire donor said so? Because some media titan said so? Because a handful of Democrats out of 260 in Congress are cowards? Go ahead—try it. Be a silly little wishcaster. But don’t BULLSHIT us that you’re the tough ones. You’re soft as hell.

I wonder how many Americans truly understand that corporate media is listening to precisely *none* of the criticisms leveled against it.
In a decade of the Trump era, they haven't changed their methods a whit and still don't understand why we see the WHCA dinner as contemptible.
No criticism penetrates. They continue to irresponsibly use anonymous sources, privilege access journalism, refuse to cut off sources known to lie, practice bothsidesism, give time to demagogues, air content they know false, conduct ineffectual fact-checking. No self-improvement.
And you know what? *For what their values are*, they do things exactly right. They value money and fame only, and they change nothing about what they do because they're getting enough of each. *You*, America, gave Maggie Haberman millions for her latest work of access journalism.
(🧵) My experience with lawyers on Twitter is summarized by the thread: people reading into things I wrote ideas I never said or thought, batting down principles I never advanced because they're clearly false, and treating burning a field of straw men as intelligence. So asinine.
1/ You have to understand that many lawyers—particularly trial lawyers like I used to be—have a love-hate relationship with attention. Suffice to say very few lawyers have broken through to have a large audience online and those who haven't are pissed about it, so what they do...
2/ ...is find lawyers with larger audiences and pick stupid fights with them—like this person is here. And they do that because sometimes, as here, they get rewarded with a response because they have pissed the object of their trolling off enough to generate one. Again, asinine.
The most sober, terrifying thing I can say as a Trump presidential historian is that what happened tonight was not about you, me, or America.
He's going to do what he's going to do based on how he convinces *himself* to do it.
Nothing else matters. He's not listening to anyone.
However it came to pass—childhood trauma, genetics, dementia—this US president is now functionally a psychopath. He lives in his own reality. He converses only with himself. All America is now downstream from a madman who's not listening to anyone or anything but his own madness.
The 25th was made for this moment.
It won't be used because Trump nominated cowards.
Impeachment was made for this moment.
It won't be used because America elected cowards.
The federal courts were made to stop this.
They won't because lifetime appointments reward cowardice.
I'm watching the Trump speech because I have to for my job and it's the most batshit crazy presidential speech I've ever heard in my nearly 50 years alive
Where it's coherent—which is only intermittently—it's on its face the largest tureen of turd soup any POTUS has ever served
I'm not in the first instance saying I don't understand how anyone could believe what the man is saying but rather how anyone could *understand* what he's trying to say
In the rare moments I think I understand what he's saying, it is the biggest most insane lie I have ever heard
What the President of the United States appears to be saying tonight is that our entire government is secretly run by China and has been for years and as far as evidence of that claim is concerned there really does not seem to be any whatsoever
(🚨) PROOF EXCLUSIVE: I’ve published 1,500+ pages of bestsellers on the coup plot Trump is about to move to Stage 2. One-sentence or one-post summaries do it no justice.
1/ I understand that there are many people out there who say, OK, he is going to lie about election interference. He always does that. It is noise, not news.
These people (and their blitheness) are wrong, and wrong in a way that is going to be dangerous to the United States now.
2/ There is a reason many are demanding the Thursday speech not be televised. There is a reason many are saying it could be the most deranged presidential speech ever.
But in a way, *that* is the noise. It presumes that what matters is what he says, not what he is going to *do*.
If I'd told you that on the evening of July 4th on the nation's 250th birthday it would be 11:15PM, Trump would not yet have spoken, there would only be a few hundred people in attendance, and the event stage would be featuring a foreign opera, you would've had me committed
Whoa he just showed up and he looks absolutely livid at the tiny, low-energy crowd
Every time he strays from his milquetoast script it is either to make up lies about a Communist threat, babble repetitiously, or whine about how he has been treated
This crowd is so small I kid you not you can hear *individual people* cheering
