The fact is that any competent Secret Service Advance team would have cordoned off the buildings overlooking the planned stage which would have prevented someone shooting from the roof.

So, logic tells us that either they did not do it, were incompetent, or were instructed not to do what any security experts anywhere in the world would do as a matter of course.

This is a sad Parsha in many ways. In this Torah portion, God instructs Moses and Aaron regarding the red heifer. Miriam, who is the sister of Moses and Aaron, dies.

Moses hits a rock to bring forth water rather than speaking to it. At the end of the parsha, Aaron dies.

Of course, there is more to it.

After years of wandering through the desert, the people arrive in the wilderness of Zin. Miriam dies, and the people thirst for water.

G‑d tells Moses to speak to a rock and command it to give water. Moses gets angry at the complaining people and strikes the stone. Water flows, but Moses is told by G‑d that neither he nor Aaron will enter the Promised Land.

Three weeks ago, over fifty (!) soldiers (officers and fighters) were "pulled out" from the Strip and brought to the Beit Lid detention facility.

There, they were interrogated for many hours, some were released on bail, and some are still detained.
I spoke with fighters who were released, and the testimonies are horrifying: they were brought in with dirty combat uniforms, treated with disdain and denied food and drink.
