The Commission of Detainees' Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoners' Club released a statement of accounts from the commission's lawyer, Khaled Mahajna and journalists Muhammad Arab and Tareq Abed.
The following includes accounts of torture, abuse, and sexual violence. 🧵
The journalist Muhammad Arab, before being tranferred from Ofer prison to Sde Teiman camp, witnessed a sick Palestinian prisoner begging for treatment. Arab reports that the prisoner was denied treatment, and instead attacked and murdered by Israeli forces.
Journalist Muhammad Arab himself, who related his experiences, recounted being interrogated inside of Sde Teiman camp upon his visit. He reports being threatened with punishment for sharing details of his experience at the prison and camp.
Journalist Arab reported Palestinian prisoners being raped. He recounted a case in which a Palestinian prisoner was completely stripped, had a fire extinguisher inserted into his backside, and the materials sprayed inside him.
This prisoner is reportedly suffering under very severe physical and psychological conditions at this time.
Another Palestinian prisoner was reportedly completely stripped and electrocuted in his back, his genitals harmed, and he was subjected to other acts of sexual violence.
Other methods of torture by Israeli forces against Palestinian prisoners described in the statement include detainees being placed on the ground with their hands restrained behind their heads, severely beaten and attacked by dogs.
There are reportedly more than 100 Palestinian prisoners and detainees who are sick and/or injured without adequate access to medical treatment. A number of Palestinian prisoners were recently subjected to severe attacks, in which some of them sustained fractures.
In Ofer prison, the conditions are reported to including the following: cells are not ventilated and only measure 5-6 meters; they include iron beds without mattresses or pillows; as many as 25 Palestinian prisoners are held in these cells.
The statement reports that Palestinian prisoners are forced to eat while being handcuffed, and do not have sufficient access to food. Each detainee is reported to have 100 grams of bread, a cucumber or a tomato and this is considered to constitute breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Within the prison cells, restrooms are reportedly not covered, and the rooms are surveilled via cameras, which also have a view of the restrooms. Palestinian prisoners are reportedly only given 1 minute to shower.
The statement also reports that within Ofer prison, one of the sections is referred to as "Hell", in which Palestinian prisoners are not able to see one another but can hear voices as they are tortured.
From this report we can see the culmination of months of extremely severe conditions in colonial prisons/torture camps. Palestinian prisoners are facing systematic torture and neglect on a daily basis. Systematic torture is a crime against humanity.

It's critical to remember that Zionism, as a form of settler-colonialism, is articulated in service of capitalism. As such, it models its tactics from other colonial powers, learns lessons & adapts. The US bombing of Bach Mai Hospital in 72 provided valuable lessons 🧵
Quickly, US legal advisors justified the bombing that killed hundreds. W Hays Park, who served in Vietnam and became a legal advisor and helped issue the 1986 airstrike on Libya, had this to say:
"Measured against the only standard accepted in principle by nations—the law of war—and accepting Hanoi’s casualty figure without qualification...
Settler-colonialism is premised on the erasure of the indigenous people. Israel is not an exception to the rule. There is not one metric that suggests that violence waged against Palestinians will subside. Home demolitions across ONLY the EJ & the WB continue to be alarming 🧵
YTD Summary:

Liberal discourse, in service of the ruling class, deploys its many machinations to scribe the terms of the world around us but, most importantly, defines justice for the oppressed & besieged. In service of zionism, Yousef posits an ethic where the colonizers keep their spoils 🧵
This colonial apologia advances settler-colonialism by arguing to the readers — mostly zionists in this case — that the Palestinian call for justice includes the settlers remaining in stolen lands & stolen homes. 2/
In the first stages of kindergarten ethics, young children, before they learn to tie their shoes or ride a bike, learn that when the injustice of stealing is committed, amends can only be made by returning what was taken. Breaking away from this axiom solidifies the injustice 3/
The destruction of Gaza is designed first to kill, then expel & finally segregate the general Palestinian population into small enclaves by selectively destroying critical life-giving infrastructure. Based on Unosat imagery on May 29, 65% of Gaza's roads are destroyed & damaged.
Here is a zoomed-in image of the Netzarim Corridor with accompanying images to show the destruction intended to bisect Gaza. This method of creating small, ethnic zones that are disconnected from each other is deployed across the West Bank as a means to create political divisions
The recent WSJ article, `The Postwar Vision That Sees Gaza Sliced Into Security Zones,` penned by genocide apologists, prompted us to remind people that the physical establishment of zones is a tactic that the Israeli state will deploy, if unchallenged, as a mechanism of erasure.
A thread on just some of the documented cases of Israeli sexual assault against Palestinians in Gaza since Oct 7 🧵
15 November 2023: Patients, displaced persons, and health workers were detained, stripped naked, blindfolded by Israeli forces, abducted from a hospital and forcibly taken to another location.
07 December 2023: An unknown number of men and boys, ages 15 to 70, were arrested and forced to strip following an invasion by Israeli forces in the New Aleppo School.
Israel's attack on medical facilities & healthcare workers, while concentrated in Gaza, is a broader tactic put in service of Western imperialism to control the indigenous people past the boundaries of Palestine and in Lebanon & Syria. Imperialism, by definition, has no borders🧵
Here are a few key events over the last few weeks.
06.03.24: Israeli airstrikes hit the vicinity of a hospital, causing significant damage. Israeli forces also shelled a hospital, severely impacting its operations.
05.31.24: Israeli bombardment killed a PRCS employee in his home. In Jabalia Refugee Camp, Israeli forces destroyed the fifth floor of an NGO hospital and repurposed another hospital into a military base...
