Thread: On January 8th, 2016, the police were called to the La Quinta Inn & Suites hotel in Mesa, Arizona. They received reports of someone pointing a rifle out of Daniel Shavers hotel room. Daniel, 26, a man with a wife and two daughters, would never see them again. 
The rifle that turned out to be an airgun Shaver was showing his friends was left in the room. Monique Portillo, who remained in the room with Shaver after his other friend left before the police arrived, was taken into custody safely. Shaver had a much worse fate. A cruel game.
Shaver was lying prone at the command of the officer. He was then instructed a series of commands that were comparable to playing an advanced game of Twister. He was told to get on his knees and have his feet remained crossed. He was told to have his hands in the air.
Shaver, doing the best he could to follow instructions while not resisting in any way. The officer yelled at Shaver that if he deviated from police instructions again, they would shoot him. He was told not to put his hands down but then was instructed to crawl towards them.
Shaver, while crawling as instructed, begged the officers to not kill him. The video is gut-wrenching. He then, while crawling, moved his hand towards his waistband a little. The officer, 26 year old Philip Brailsford, fired five rounds into him. He sadly didn't make it.

It gets worse, In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days and paid for his PTSD treatment. He then received "accidental disability" and was allowed to medically retire with a 2500 dollar a month pension.
The outrage for Daniel Shaver was nothing compared to the outrage when black actual criminals die in the commission of a crime. It just faded away. I'm tired of hearing the supposed racial injustice regarding treatment by the law.
You simply hear about it less because the media doesn't care. When we die, it's quiet. No politicians come to our funerals. No one riots for us. No celebrities bother with crocodile tears.
