Annenkov which operated the Kerch-Kavkaz Ferry which suffered multiple hull cracks in 2018 last report the vessel was beached in Aliaga Turkey November 21 2023 to prevent sinking. Photo 4

The consequences of the attacks on these rail ferries were immediately clear. We had a video show up on social media on June 9th showing the first freight rail train going back across the Kerch strait bridge carrying fuel.
This was the first freight train spotted crossing the bridge since February 2024. Russia now has no dedicated Rail Ferries in the entire Black Sea. They have lost the capability to transport rail cars by sea and now will have to start using the Kerch strait bridge again to supply Russian forces in Crimea and Occupied Kherson.
They have also lost the ability to ship fuel to Turkey along the Samsun-Kavkaz Rail Ferry Line
This was the first freight train spotted crossing the bridge since February 2024. Russia now has no dedicated Rail Ferries in the entire Black Sea. They have lost the capability to transport rail cars by sea and now will have to start using the Kerch strait bridge again to supply Russian forces in Crimea and Occupied Kherson.
They have also lost the ability to ship fuel to Turkey along the Samsun-Kavkaz Rail Ferry Line
Russia's sea lift capability is now virtually non-existent and they will have to start using the bridge once again. Which now means that there will be a large quantity of explosives and fuel crossing the bridge multiple times a day, making the bridge vulnerable to significant damages if attacked.
Other consequences of this attack with the rail ferries being taken offline will likely also make the Russians reconsider whether or not to continue using regular car ferries across the Kerch strait and whether or not they want to risk losing that roll-on roll-off capability as well or preserve this capability and withdraw the ships and close the Kerch-Kavkaz Ferry.
