How to Earn on Polymarket Without Just Betting Big

Polymarket is a go-to crypto app for many (including me) to predict events daily

But how do you earn without risky bets?

Here’s a thread on real strategies to make money with Polymarket.

No focus on airdrop farming, just solid approaches. Lezzgo! 🧵(1/4)

1. Delta-Neutral Strategies with Linear Probability Growth

Find correlated events to build near delta-neutral strategies, betting on rising probabilities, not outcomes.

My Example (May 1):
Bet “No” on “BTC > $98K by week’s end” (36 hrs left, trading at 0.89, ~12% ROI if BTC < $98K).

Current BTC price: $95K, comfy margin.

Hedge:
Buy “Yes” on “BTC > $100K in May” (0.67).

Math:
100 shares “No” (<$98K).

200 shares “Yes” (>$100K).

If BTC spikes, “No” loses ~$39, but “Yes” gains ~$39.

Risk:
BTC drops below $92K–93K in 24 hrs. Set stop on hedge at 0.62 for breakeven/minimal loss.

Result:
BTC rose, probabilities shifted, and I made +10% in 12 hrs.
Key: You’re betting on probability shifts, not the event itself.

2.Arbitrage Betting: The Safest Play

Arbitrage is king for risk-free gains. Find inefficiencies across Polymarket or other platforms. Inspired by @PixOnChain ’s guide (must-read!).

Types:

- Similar Events, Different Wording:
Ex: “Trump wins 2024” (60%) vs. “Republicans win” (50%).
If combined probability >100%, it’s arbitrage.
Bet $100 on “No Trump” (40%) + $100 on “Republicans win” (50%).

Outcomes:
Trump wins: Was $200. Lost $100. Got $200. You’re even.

Non-Trump Republican: Was $200. Got $450. +$250.

Democrat: Was $200. Lost $100. Got $250. +$50.

- Cross-Platform Arbitrage:

Ex: “Next Pope” market (Polymarket + @MyriadMarkets):

Pietro Parolin: 35.2¢ (@MyriadMarkets)

Luis Antonio Tagle: 30¢ (Polymarket)

Other: 32.7¢ (MyriadMarkets)

Total: 97.9¢. Buy all three, get $1 back.
Profit: 2.1% risk-free.

- Time Delays:
If you catch news/rumors early, act fast before odds adjust.

Here’s an example of my late-March strategy, blending Polymarket with @GammaSwapLabs straddles (volatility bets + futures with stops).

This setup isn’t common, tough to spot, and short-term. The trick is Polymarket giving returns on low volatility or strong one-way moves.

4. Farming Yields on Obvious Events

Many events are about to happen but still aren’t priced at 100%.

Check Polymarket’s leaderboard—top players use this to pull high %APR, outpacing even DeFi protocols.

You can copy-trade the most successful ones, but always double-check the events.

Lots of good stuff there, though you can find plenty on Polymarket’s site too.

5. Absurd & Unlikely Events

These are super popular for high-risk, high-reward bets.
Recent hit:
“What will happen before GTA VI?” Jesus Christ returns (13%).

Plenty of weird ones around the next Pope:
“Will Donald Trump be the next Pope?”

“Will the next Pope be gay?”

“Will the next Pope be a manlet?” (This one’s semi-plausible, talking average height).
