Thoughts for Monday:

1. Fascists are cheerleading for market collapse, as usual, because it aids the accelerationism they need for their project.

2. Some volatility is expected right now as interest rates are expected to go down but probably won’t for a few weeks.

3. No one knows what may go down in the Middle East, despite what some say.

4. Bitcoin is a lie. It never behaves as a hedge against storms and is correlated with stocks. It is just a dumb liquidity sponge for cultists. May the lie be exposed once again.

5. It makes no difference who Harris chooses for VP, as long as she makes the choice and has good information.

Be wary of anyone saying this is “the end times,” or statements like that. It’s just times — with ups and downs and setbacks and advances. Focus on maintaining perspective and calm. That’s what one does in stormy weather.

1/A lot of folks have asked me about ways in which the election results may be subverted and what to do about it. Others are doing more work on that than I am, but I expect we’ll all be talking in detail about that soon. In the meantime, here are some ideas to subvert that…

First: cut off their oxygen. The calls bringing specific identity groups together are excellent. The fundraising is nice but the main benefit is giving visibility to each faction — not just to the world but to each other. And it corrects…
3/perception about the size of each faction. Each one of these is an info op that demoralizes and isolates the adversary.

Second: turnout should be overwhelming. Dems have solid field ops and should target suburban and urban areas in swing states to maximize turnout. Messaging..

I predict that if Harris wins, we're going to see an economic bonanza, as people shift attention from saving the republic and doomscrolling 24x7 to more fulfilling, productive, and interesting work. Still much to do, but averting Trumpism is a massive drag on on the economy.
And for the Eeyores (of which I am one by nature), yes, it’s not like all aspects of this are going away. But a second repudiation combined with the failed last-ditch efforts these folks are putting out now will mean a very strong rebuke and a new position of power for a sane majority. Trump himself is going away and Vance is nobody. There is a pathway to a better, saner future. Let’s win it.
It’s also worth noting that even if things in Congress aren’t perfect we have a shot there too, because roughly 70% of that body is on the same side. MTG calls it the “uniparty” but everyone else calls it common sense.

1/The election is endlessly entertaining, but I encourage everyone, especially @RepJeffries @chuckschumer @POTUS @SpeakerJohnson to turn their attention to the next debt ceiling deadline: January 2, 2025.
2/We have another potential disaster coming our way, at a time when tensions could be high. The stakes for this election are higher than people perhaps realize. We have to get this right, or everything crashes. That’s true no matter who wins.
3/Congress needs to act, and no, relying on the 14th Amendment and magic coins are not workable options when everything ends up at a compromised Supreme Court. The time to act is now. We have no time for games.
