The riots in the UK are connected to a network of influencers linked to Russia and a failure post 2016 to address the radicalisation of the UK by Russian subversion and western oligarchs inc the owners of online platforms. This issue can no longer be left to fester.
We know who many of the influencers are but they laugh at prosecution and destabilise the UK from within on the brink of global war, and during the ongoing genocide of Ukraine. The UK and other countries must legislate to tackle them.
It will mean some new offences and that carries obvious risks, but there is a far more serious risk of chaos, internal mass violence, social collapse. Above all during this time of existential threat Britain collectively needs to see its real enemies.
The real foe is a renewed fascism external and internal seeking to redraw maps, erase nations and burn down our ability as humans to work collectively to address the environmental crisis. They are Russia, Iran, North Korea. They are thugs burning cars and looting in the UK
But they are merely foot soldiers incited by influence networks linked to Russia, Iran etc (and of course China) and western oligarchs. The west must tackle them now. Defeating Trump and Farage and defeating these hostile states is the only possibility for our survival
