1️⃣ After yesterday’s knife attack in Turkey, which resulted in several injuries, it’s clear that we need to get informed about the rapidly growing Turkish Neo-Nazi scene.
🧵
2️⃣ First of all, I want to emphasize that this was not a random attack, but one with political motivation.
The attacker’s gear included a Black Sun, a clear Nazi symbol.
The attacker’s Telegram profile picture also features a Swastika with Turkish motifs.
3️⃣ After the 2024 elections, Turkey now has the most right-wing Parliament in its history.
This blend of nationalism and Islamism has given rise to various factions, including even Nazism.
4️⃣ Such radical factions are mostly ideologically secular and followers of Atatürk.
Their ideology is fueled by hatred of the 'Other,' a typical Neo-Nazi reaction.
An example of this is 'Ulusal Cephe,' which openly supports Adolf Hitler and his ideology.
5️⃣ Ulusal Cephe (National Front), which describes itself as 'national socialist,' also salutes the genocidal Pashas: Enver and Talat.
@ulusalcephe1
6️⃣ Another Turk-supremacist group displaying these characteristics operates solely on Telegram.
It’s claimed that yesterday’s attacker was actually a member of this group, 'Sansasyonel Turan Birliği.'
7️⃣ They are armed and dangerous.
The Neo-Nazi group 'Ataman Kardeşliği' has been seen conducting weapons training. The group was also criticized and exposed by @LindseySnell in recent years.
8️⃣ To summarize, Turkish hatred towards Armenians, Kurds, refugees, and 'others' is now being embodied by the ideology of Adolf Hitler.
It is weaponized and organized.
There is also no power to stop it, as these movements draw their strength from politics.
9️⃣ In my opinion, the level of racism in Turkey is being ignored because of the rise of the right in Europe.
The rise of Neo-Nazism in Turkey is a significant issue, and I believe we will see more attacks like yesterday’s.

1⃣ The Abuse of Women & Childeren during the Armenian Genocide
⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING 🔞
This thread addresses disturbing topics related to the Armenian Genocide. It may be difficult for both the writer and reader.
One aspect of the genocide was the forced assimilation of children. They were placed in orphanages and distributed to Muslim families to be "educated" in Turkish culture. Young girls were often coerced into marrying Muslim men as part of this policy.
Another grim aspect of the genocide was the objectification and abuse of women and childeren.
While being deported, Aghavni witnessed hunderts of young women commit suicide by drawning themselves by Euphrates.
"Can you forget that? Every day that I drink water that image comes to my mind"
🧵
2⃣ It was a daily occurrence
The gendarmeries escorting the exile convoys would stop after 1-2 days of walking next to a water source, but they would not allow anyone to drink.
Zabel Essayan reported in 1919:
"The price of water for someone dying of thirst was to hand over virgins or young girls. The commanders allowed the soldiers to do as they pleased, giving them full rights over Armenian women."
Rape was a daily occurrence despite the harsh conditions, according to James Bryce and Arnold Toynbee:
"[...] mothers in despair leave on the way their infant children, often only six months old, and continue their journey. Even in this deplorable state, rapes and violent acts are everyday occurrences."
According to Zabel Essayan’s report, the abuse was almost ceremonial: a trumpet would sound, signaling the women to gather at a predetermined location. A group of soldiers, tasked with this horrific purpose, would then arrive and begin raping the women in front of everyone, including Muslim women and children.
3⃣ Child Abuse During the Genocide
The authorities abused their power over women and children. For example, the Red Crescent hospital in Trebizond was turned into an "amusement center", where the governor of the province, Cemal Azmi, along with other officials, abused young girls.
Another account from a deportee caravan reads:
"[...] Gendarmes went through the caravan and found an especially pretty twelve-year old girl. They dragged her from her mother, telling the weeping woman, that they would return her. And, in fact, the child was returned, but she had been terribly abused and died."
However, it wasn’t just the authorities and gendarmes; local Turks and Kurds would also move among the deportees, taking whomever they wanted.
"They would grab them, and holding them by the hand, lead them away."
Ara Sarafian also wrote about the Cilicia (Çukurova) region, noting that the abuse of children there was indescribable.
