1⃣ The Abuse of Women & Childeren during the Armenian Genocide
⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING 🔞
This thread addresses disturbing topics related to the Armenian Genocide. It may be difficult for both the writer and reader.
One aspect of the genocide was the forced assimilation of children. They were placed in orphanages and distributed to Muslim families to be "educated" in Turkish culture. Young girls were often coerced into marrying Muslim men as part of this policy.
Another grim aspect of the genocide was the objectification and abuse of women and childeren.
While being deported, Aghavni witnessed hunderts of young women commit suicide by drawning themselves by Euphrates.
"Can you forget that? Every day that I drink water that image comes to my mind"
🧵
2⃣ It was a daily occurrence
The gendarmeries escorting the exile convoys would stop after 1-2 days of walking next to a water source, but they would not allow anyone to drink.
Zabel Essayan reported in 1919:
"The price of water for someone dying of thirst was to hand over virgins or young girls. The commanders allowed the soldiers to do as they pleased, giving them full rights over Armenian women."
Rape was a daily occurrence despite the harsh conditions, according to James Bryce and Arnold Toynbee:
"[...] mothers in despair leave on the way their infant children, often only six months old, and continue their journey. Even in this deplorable state, rapes and violent acts are everyday occurrences."
According to Zabel Essayan’s report, the abuse was almost ceremonial: a trumpet would sound, signaling the women to gather at a predetermined location. A group of soldiers, tasked with this horrific purpose, would then arrive and begin raping the women in front of everyone, including Muslim women and children.

RISING OF TURKISH NEO-NAZISM
1️⃣ After yesterday’s knife attack in Turkey, which resulted in several injuries, it’s clear that we need to get informed about the rapidly growing Turkish Neo-Nazi scene.
🧵
2️⃣ First of all, I want to emphasize that this was not a random attack, but one with political motivation.
The attacker’s gear included a Black Sun, a clear Nazi symbol.
The attacker’s Telegram profile picture also features a Swastika with Turkish motifs.
