🧵Another fake report by @HRW — now claiming Israeli attack on Hodeida possibly war crime because UN officials said there is no military activity at port. But UN report HRW cites contradicts claim; evidence shows Houthis smuggle arms and launch attacks from port. Analysis: 1/
HRW claims IDF attack was “indiscriminate” meaning port was not used for any military purpose & disproportionate. How does HRW know port was not used for military purposes? UN staff & Yemenis said so. That’s literally the only evidence HRW can muster! 2/
Is it true UN “never found evidence of a Houthi military presence" at port? FALSE. HRW themselves cite UN report (S/2023/130) contradicting claim. HRW conveniently omits. Clause 35 recounts how port was used by Houthis in 2022 to detain a UAE vessel. A clear military use. 3/
UN recounts in Paragraph 36 a May 2022 attack by Houthi military vessels (“three skiffs carrying armed men”) in the area of the port of Hodeida – the only port in the area. The crack research team at HRW seems to have not read the report they cite. 4/
Same UN report describes military parade at Hodeidah and specifically notes this violated agreement not to use city for "military manifestation." HRW cites UN official claiming Hodeida NEVER had military presence as core evidence but claim is contradicted in a UN report! 5/
HRW also ignores many confirmed reports showing how Houthis used area of Hodeida port to fire missiles at ships. Here is an AP report from Jan 2024. The willful blindness by HRW is breathtaking. It's not research, just virulent anti-Israel propaganda. 6/
In June 2024, per Al Jazeera, “small watercraft” of Houthis hit a civilian Greek ship “near Red Sea port of Hodeidah” (war crime anyone?) Where could those “small watercraft” have come from? Obviously the nearby port of Hodeidah where the attack occurred. HRW ignores. 7/
Iran has been caught often using fishing boats and cover of humanitarian aid to smuggle weapons to Houthis. Only Iran/Houthi/Hamas/Hezbollah apologists like HRW would deny this. It’s preposterous to rely on UN officials to certify that Hodeidah is not used for arms smuggling. 8/
According to US military, these transfer of weapons violate Security Council Resolution 2216 which HRW claims the Houthis are adhering to. The shoddy and dishonest HRW report does not bother to note rampant violation by Iran & Houthis to smuggle ballistic missile components. 9/
The Arab coalition against the Houthis has also stated that their intelligence shows the Houthis smuggle weapons via Hodeidah port. So it's not just an Israeli claim. HRW omits this aspect of Houthi activity at Hodeidah as it would demolish claims of Israeli war crimes. 10/
HRW also inanely ignores that oil is a key strategic asset by any military. It’s stupid to have to explain this. Houthis fired ballistic missiles at Israel. Israel has every right to harm Houthi capacity to wage war. But HRW’s fake experts claim hitting oil is not legal. 11/
Geneva Convention considers oil a legitimate military target since they “make an effective contribution to military action” both for its use by military and revenue for regime. The US hit Iraqi & Syrian oil based on this. HRW omits since it demolishes their fake claims. 12/
22 paragraphs into HRW report (of 23) they admit Iran supplies missiles to Houthis. But they don’t say how missiles are delivered. If not Hodeida then which port? Their whole analysis is fabrication and speculation to libel Israel, so they won't offer this key information. 13/
HRW confidently claims even if port was a military target, attack was disproportionate. HRW fails to explain their assessment of “anticipated military advantage” vs “expected” harm to civilian objects. HRW ignores that stopping missiles attacks was an Israeli "advantage." 14/
Fake NGO @HRW fabricates int’l law to claim Israeli war crimes. HRW lies about use of Hodeidah port by Houthis for military as UN reports, plays dumb on how Iran ships missiles to Yemen, pretends oil is not a legitimate target, fakes analysis of proportionality. Pure junk. END

🧵Hamas, not Israel, is the group that has stated an intent for Palestinian genocide by violating Article 6(c) of the Rome Statute. Israel stated an intent to destroy only Hamas; it is actually Hamas who calls for mass death of Palestinians (and Jews). Don't believe it? Read: 1/
Hamas leader Sinwar stated Palestinian deaths were part of his strategy against Israel, merely “necessary sacrifices” – meaning he “inflicted on the group conditions” intended for Palestinians to die in a war Hamas started. This intent is reported in @WSJ and not disputed. 2/
Deceased Hamas leaded Haniyeh was clear in an October 2023 speech about his intent for Palestinians to die: “we NEED THE BLOOD of women, children… so as to awaken our revolutionary spirit.” How much more intent can there be? 3/
🧵Australian military expert affirmed tragic death of 7 WCK aid workers was not deliberate, vindicating Israel. He assessed that unexpected gunmen were with convoy and looked like Hamas; but failures still led to mistaken attack. An important independent report, some detail: 1/
The primary reason for the IDF misidentification error was the unexpected presence of armed persons, one of whom fired his weapon into the air on the trailer of the WCK truck, which was deemed “consistent with Hamas hijacking the aid convoy.” 2/
The official Australian report by Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin noted that later on several additional gunmen moved around the WCK escort vehicles. According to the Australian assessment, IDF brigade officials “classified” the gunmen “as Hamas.” 3/
🧵CNN piece that IDF is far from victory over Hamas is fake news that simply wishes this were true. CNN offers almost no evidence and relies on cherry-picked experts who have been claiming IDF failure since 10/7. Subtext: IDF has killed Gazans for nothing. Full analysis: 1/
CNN starts out slowly: Hamas has rebuilt some fighting capabilities. Fine. Article even admits Hamas is now a “guerilla force.” But authors then speculate, cite other experts who push line that “victory” over Hamas is not in sight, then it becomes “power of Hamas is growing”! 2/
CNN’s analysis relies on Hamas “claims” — Really? Despite never admitting any combatant deaths? Hiding Deif & Issa deaths? Also open source data. CNN offers no info from IDF, citing just one unnamed “Israeli source close to military.” IDF officially rejected CNN's thesis. 3/
🧵Children's bedrooms have been converted to military zones by Hamas. They exploit the most sacred civilian locations in Gaza, forcing the IDF to go door-to-door, causing destruction. See 10 documented examples of kid's rooms converted into tunnel & weapons storage by Hamas: 1/
Tunnel with weapons found underneath bed in children’s room in Rafah’s Shaboura neighborhood. July 2024. 2/
🧵CRITICAL: 13 Reasons Why Hamas Fatality Numbers Should Never be Believed. Despite many proven flaws and history of fabrications, despite Hamas classified as terrorist org by EU & US — media, NGOs & world leaders cite Hamas as reliable. Analysis with evidence for each point: 1/
No one disputes Point 1. Point 2: some claim that ~10,000 Gaza fatalities are bodies in some room awaiting processing, simply "unidentified." False – the bodies are unknown and unlocated, deaths unverified. 2/
Point 3: Hamas claimed 471 deaths minutes after Al-Ahli Hospital incident, which intelligence agencies, even NGOs, said was a PIJ rocket. Same intelligence agencies said actual deaths were perhaps in the dozens (look it up). But official report (below) still includes 471. 3/
🧵Geneva Conventions understood use of schools & hospitals for war and smartly removed their protection when used for combat, contradicting fake claims that they can never be attacked. Geneva discusses human shields & abuse of civilian sites for combat six times. Analysis: 1/
Article IV.28 plainly and simply states that “protected persons,” which refers to civilians and other classes of people entitled to protection, do not immunize areas from military operations. Human shields do not provide immunity. 2/
Protocol I.51.7 expands further, specifically prohibiting use of civilians to “shield military objectives” and makes clear civilians to not “render certain points immune from military operations.” The use of such shields is a war crime, one of many committed by Hamas. 3/
