In an attempted knock-off of the @mostmoralpod, two Israelis launched a podcast they call ‘Two Nice Jewish Boys’.
The results are chilling. I’ve compiled some of their most popular hits in this thread 🧵
Starting with: “Polio in Gaza”
On Sde Teiman - the Israeli rape & torture center for Palestinian detainees, and the ‘oh, poor guy card’
On innocent civilians and “issues”
Who are the Palestinians:
The Boys take on John Oliver and ‘Yakob you are stealing my house’
On international law
On being … better
On their attempt to be Most Moral
The chillingly horrifying thing I’ve ever heard.
On a genocide “button” and just how hard most Jewish Israelis would SMASH it if they had the chance provided it would kill “ALL Palestinians” in Gaza and W Bank an instant.
Credit to @BreeEsq for helping discover this “uber”-talented duo.
@BreeEsq If you want to help people that are not those two above, here’s a vetted fundraiser I’ve been helping with for two homeless girls in Gaza after Israeli destroyed their homes and disappeared their dad. I urge you to give. Give generously. ⬇️
Journalist Ronen Bergman, writing for Israel's leading publication Ynet, reveals that leaked IDF documents, falsely attributed to Hamas, were intentionally shared with international media outlets, including Germany's prominent newspaper Bild. These documents conveniently align with a new narrative promoted by Prime Minister Netanyahu in two separate press conferences this past week.
An internal investigation has been launched within the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to identify who is leaking classified documents related to Hamas to the international media.
The leaked documents allegedly reveal Hamas' internal strategies and plans, including leader Yahya Sinwar's intentions to sow division among Israelis, reject the hostage deal, and smuggle hostages to Iran via Egypt.
Israeli PM Netanyahu: “Hamas will pay a very heavy price. … Iran’s axis of evil needs Philadelphi Corridor. We must control Gaza’s Philadelphi Corridor. I am not flexible on this … If we pull out there will be massive pressure not to go back in. We will not pull out.”
Part 2 of prepared remarks
“I will not surrender to this international pressure. I know how to withstand even greater pressure.”
Q & A
Q: Mr. PM, how do you see the day after? And President Biden said he is not pleased with your behavior…
A: We must control all border crossings for foreseeable future… take away governmental capabilities from Hamas.
This is a 🧵of the best interviews I’ve found with Israel/Middle East analysts on how Israeli society is reacting to the death of the hostages and what to expect next;
1. France 24
2. Phyllis Bennis is a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies. She says the combination of mass protests and a general strike could force Israel’s government to shift on the war:
3. “The understanding has seeped into public consciousness … that military pressure is not only not assisting in the return of the hostages, it’s killing them.”
Israeli political analyst @ori_goldberg on the shift in Israeli attitudes:
- UN-led Gaza polio vaccination campaign begins as Israel continues to pound the enclave, killing at least 61 people in 24 hours, and an additional 48 since dawn today, “vast majority, women and children.”
-Israel continues siege on city of Jenin- blocking food, water, medical care and electricity, while DESTROYING 70% OF INFRASTRUCTURE (roads, electricity, water, sewage facilities).
- Israel’s largest raid since 2002 continues for 5th day “wreaking enormous destruction” in occupied West Bank & killing 24 so far.
- 3 Israeli security officers gunned down outside illegal Israeli checkpoint in West Bank’s southern city of Al-Khalil (Hebron).
-Israel’s military recovered the bodies of six Israeli captives including an Israeli-American.
2. Interview with Hani Mahmoud/Al Jazeera where he describes two separate queues have formed at the hospital: one for women with their children waiting to be vaccinated. Another w/ dead and wounded women and children brought in from today’s bombings (48 dead since morning)
3. Important interview with @KenRoth former head of Human Rights Watch where he warns Israel’s actions in West Bank — “blowing up towns, piece by piece” — if not stopped, could make the occupied territory soon look like another ‘Gaza’.
Washington Post’s @cairo_claire1 describes the ‘Jenin Brigades’ as “an umbrella group that serves as the “cornerstone” of West Bank resistance” in her helpful piece— “What to know about Palestinian militant groups in the West Bank” (linked below).
Al Jazeera, for a 2023 documentary, embedded directly with the Jenin Brigades and explained how they emerged in 2021 after nearly two decades of relative calm.
Having withdrawn from Tulkarem and Tubas on the third day of their largest military incursion into northern West Bank since 2002, Israel is still continuing its military raid on Jenin.
My thread on what you need to know about Resistance and JENIN:👇
1. Jenin has always been a focal point of Palestinian resistance
2. The City:
“Jenin is a small city in the hilly, far north of the West Bank, near the border with Israel, and contains a teeming, concrete and cinder-block refugee camp by the same name housing some 14,000 people.”
