I don’t believe it is the fault of any kid that goes to school for infecting their parent or grandparents.

It was the grown ups responsibility to put in place the reasonable expectations for disease control in school.

Kids. We failed you… and I am so very sorry for your loss.
This happened to a kid we know that brought delta home from daycare. Her mum died.
It is an unreasonable expectation for any child to fight this alone… in environments where they may be the only one in a mask.
Yes, you can go on to build a better world that the 💩 pile my generation are leaving behind… but don’t spend one minute thinking it was your fault.

It wasn’t.
Even if you did things you knew might be risky, it wasn’t all your fault.

We adults should have lowered the risk overall, so when you pushed the boundary, there wasn’t such a huge risk of a fall.

Like cleaning the air, and keeping kids home when sick.
We should have set a better example, so you didn’t feel so alone in your task.

We shouldn’t have made safety political, so you could keep your identity and beliefs, but still be safe.
We shouldn’t have been so impatient to be “normal”. We should have patiently built something better for you.

Warning.

Some of the top schools in the country are encouraging mask use coming up to exams and the end of year 12.

And the kids are wearing them.

You want a competitive ATAR, do what Olympic athletes and the highest achieving kids in the country do.
It’s not anywhere near 100% use… but it’s a large number…
You won’t see it in their webpage photos… because they all unmask for publicity… but they are all action against illness in the classroom.

I’d like to clear something up.

When they said c19 would become seasonal, they weren’t referring to human behaviour in the context of varying climate/weather conditions leading to complex epidemics continuously worldwide.
They meant once a year in winter and just like all the other colds.
And they were wrong.

Key players… you all know Prof Sutton left CHO Vic position to go to CSIRO?

Well he’s been beavering away over there collating all current evidence.

Importantly ->
Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah said that there is a need to find “a road to implementation” and that the consensus is that there is enough evidence to start working on this *now*.

On investigation also HIV positive…

But symptoms came on in the context of COVID-19 too.
Some people would have you believe COVID had nothing to do with it…

But I have been warning for a long, long time.

COVID messes with the immune system and blood vessels. It inflamed the brain.
An awful lot of us are walking around with multiple dormant viruses and bacteria.

No… medical professionals aren’t “struggling to prevent transmission”.

Where airborne disease guidelines are followed, outcomes are outstanding. (E.g. infectious disease hospital in Italy 2020.)

Medical professionals and health managers are choosing not to follow the protocols.
That’s mainly because of government acceptance of “a certain amount of loss” aided by chaos agents and misguided people in media… including SoMe.
I wouldn’t normally engage… but I think that this was an important point to be made.

The airborne disease control protocols are excellent, have been around for decades, and they work.

The sensitivity of PCR for C19 is not 100%.

No where near in fact.

In clinical practice it was around 70%.
RAT even lower than that depending on when it is done and how often.
These tests aren’t even being done routinely for all feverish patients.
