The government today presents a new military support package to Ukraine worth approx. 445 million USD. We continue to go from donation to the production of arms to Ukraine. With Sweden’s strong defence industrial base we are well equipped to undertake this transformation. (1/10)
Sweden will donate different capabilities in the land and sea domains. More RBS70, grenade launchers, ammunition, anti-tank mines and CBRN equipment will strengthen the Ukrainian ground forces. (2/10)
Sweden will also donate six additional Combat Boat 90 with the addition of some boat launching trolleys. We take note of Ukraine's increasing maritime capabilities in the Black Sea, alongside the corresponding reduction on Russia's side. (3/10)
To go from donation to production of arms to Ukraine, new steps are taken in this package: Drones, camo to PBV 302 and ammunition to Combat Vehicle 90 will be procured to Ukraine. This dimension will be increasingly important going forward. (4/10)
Sweden will also invest approx. 72 million USD in different capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defence Contact Group. (5/10)
At the moment, transferring JAS Gripen to Ukraine is not a viable option, as it would interfere with the introduction of the F-16. Sweden remains in close contact with the international combat aircraft coalition that supports Ukraine. (6/10)
In this package, conditions are created to make a decision on a possible donation of JAS Gripen at a later stage. Material units of Gripen C/D will be. procured for approx. 222Mil USD. (7/10)
A future descion depends on the ability to maintain Swedish security and Ukraine's ability to receive it. A donation of Gripen would also require cooperation with several countries. (8/10)
Coordination with the fighter aircraft coalition is crucial for determining when a introduction of an additional combat aircraft system could take place. Sweden will also continue with the introduction of the ASC890, which will work as a force multiplier to the F-16s. (9/10)
As has been stated previous Sweden has avoided restrictions on the use of our donated weapons including the use on Russian territory. Ukraine is clearly exercising its right to self-defence in accordance with international law. Supporting Ukraine is not escalating. (10/10)

Just announced: Sweden will donate a new military capability to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence. Package 16 will be the largest 🇸🇪 military aid package yet at €1,16bln. Sweden will donate Airborne Surveillance and Control aircraft (ASC 890) to 🇺🇦. (1/6)
ASC 890 will provide 🇺🇦 with a new capability against both airborne and maritime targets. 🇺🇦 capability to identify targets at long range will be strengthened. They will act as a force multiplier with the introduction of F-16. AMRAAMs will also be donated. (2/6)
Sweden will also donate its entire stock of armoured tracked personnel carriers (PBV 302) to support the reconstruction of new Ukrainian brigades. Sweden will also donate artillery ammunition and resources for maintenance of previously donated materiel. (3/6)
@swedishPM and I just announced that Sweden is joining the Leopard 2 tank coalition. Sweden will give up to 10 Leopard 2 A5 main battle tanks to Ukraine. This, with the 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles on the way, will significantly strengthen the armed forces of Ukraine. (1/7)
Sweden will also donate a substantial amount of HAWK air defence system components and ammunition. The value of the components and ammunition if purchased would be several hundred million euros. (2/7)
HAWK is a medium range system that defends against enemy aircraft, helicopters and missiles. This donation can help Ukraine strengthen its air defences in multiple places and help deny Russia access to the airspace. (3/7)
