🧵1./ Who's Crying Now?
2 years ago my friend Kate Harris teared up during a case brought by trans charity Mermaids. Today, it's Mermaids being investigated. For safeguarding failures like telling children to lie to their parents. There was also its paedophilia problem.
1/of 14
2./ Mermaids had to fire one of its trustees when it emerged he'd attended a pro-paedophilia conference where he compared having sex with a child to ejaculating on a shoe. He also wrote of being sexually excited by watching a 12 year old dancing. Sounds perfect for Mermaids.
3./ Mermaids then had to fire a senior staff member when explicit pictures emerged of him dressed as a schoolgirl and showing off his erect penis. He was in charge of digital engagement for the charity. He also identified as they/them. Of course he did. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
4./ CEO Susie Green then resigned. Perhaps because she kept lying. She claimed Mermaids wasn't a health charity yet she helped draft guidelines for WPATH, a trans health group. She also referred kids to an NHS gender clinic against the advice of doctors. dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
5./ Green also urged two dodgy doctors to set up Gender GP, a private clinic that continually broke the law by prescribing sterilising drugs to children and young people. She then referred kids to them. When she resigned from Mermaids she joined Gender GP. gendergp.com/susie-green-jo…
6./ One founder of Gender GP was struck off for medical negligence. The other had her license revoked. Green though didn't think they pushed puberty blockers carelessly or eagerly enough and so set up her own even dodgier clinic to get round an NHS ban. inews.co.uk/news/mermaids-…
7./ What of Jolyon Maugham who helped finance the Mermaids case? He recently drew attention to his own lunacy when he claimed Wes Streeting had caused an epidemic of suicxdes among "trans kids"; a claim dismissed as garbage by the NHS's suicxde expert. theguardian.com/society/articl…
8./ As for Maugham's legal practice which tried to get LGB Alliance's charity status revoked, it has itself now said sayonara. It closed having run out of deluded idiots willing to have their pockets picked. Maugham was last seen barking at the moon and threatening to sue it.
9./ Mermaids' slimiest witness John Nicolson has also fallen from grace. His slug features proved mysteriously unenticing to his constituents and he lost his well-padded seat. As a Scottish nationalist he will refuse to take his Westmonster pension. Of course the hypocrite won't.
10./ The last 2 years have been tough for some of Mermaids' most vocal supporters too. Stephen Ireland from Pride Surrey didn't just cheer on their case he organised a petition calling on LGB Alliance to be criminalised and picketed its conference. Guess what happened next...
11./ In a twist absolutely nobody could have predicted Stephen Ireland is currently in custody, awaiting trial on 37 charges of child sex abuse. Who on earth will Surrey's cops get to cruise around in their rainbow painted car in the meantime? Or go with them into schools? 🤷
12./ Another vocal supporter of Mermaids in the run up to the trial was Anthony Watson. His company, Bank Of London, awarded Mermaids its Charity of the Year award in 2022. Two weeks ago Watson had to resign after HMRC served a writ on his bank for failing to pay its taxes.
13./ LGBT Youth Scotland who used to have a paedophile as their CEO was criticised for continuing to recommend Mermaids while it was under investigation. They're a tad busy right now fending off criticism they allowed yet another paedophile access to vulnerable children.
14./ My brave friends and colleagues at @AllianceLGB remain determined to salvage the reputation of our lesbian and gay rights movement. Kate Harris, @BevJacksonAuth, Eileen Gallagher, @KateBMwriting, @BluskyeAllison and the many volunteers who cannot yet be named, I salute you.

1./ How captured is the BBC by the LGBTQ+ lobby and why does it matter? On Eastenders tonight, Albert Square was celebrating Pride. Of course it was. And as in every working class community in London’s East End absolutely everybody was dressing up for the local Pride party. 🤔
2./ The pecking order in Walford is now determined by how pro-LGBTQ+ characters are. So Kathy Beale silences her rival by pointing out she’s at the Pride event because her son is err… “part of the Queer community”. An everyday riposte in Whitechapel and Bethnal Green no doubt.
3./ It’s true East End life is more “diverse” today than the bad old days when the White Swan on Commercial Road was a rare gay oasis. But colour me skeptical there is any East End community with as many cross dressing blokes as appear in the background in Albert Square.
1. Climate Change Hyperbole.
How should we respond to global warming? In my latest article I examine how last year's flood in Valencia was misrepresented and misused to argue we should decarbonise our economy more urgently than we are already doing.👉
2./ The climate change lobby ignored the fact Valencia had flooded 75 times before and the geology of the region could almost be designed to produce flash floods. Flooding in Valencia got so bad in 1957 the city decided to reroute the river that used to run through the centre.
3./ Coverage of the flood ignored all this and the fact rivers flowing into Valencia emerge 5500ft up a mountain range. This steep gradient means when extreme rainfall occurs water rushes to the city in a torrent. Nor can it escape because of almost vertical ravine river banks.
1./ 🧵The Lies of Sarah McBride: The Sequel.
This leading trans activist claims the trans lobby now faces hostility cos it failed to take the time to convince the public. Yet it was McBride himself who ruthlessly championed the most extreme positions. 👉 nytimes.com/2025/06/17/opi…
2./ After @HRC failed to stop a law in North Carolina protecting women's spaces McBride led its revenge campaign to ensure its Republican Governor was not re-elected. "It would send a really important message: if you come for us we're going to come for you", warned McBride.
3./ Invading women's restrooms was such a complusion for McBride that in a 2018 Google seminar he admitted HRC killed a non-discrimination bill in Philadelphia protecting gay and trans people from employment discrimination just because it had an exemption for women's restrooms.
1./ Iran's Tran$ Plan. If you want to understand what drives trans ideology look at what's happening in Iran where a new national plan aims to increase revenue from medical tourism six fold; including from the country's booming gender clinics. Why does this matter?
1 of/11.👉
2./ In the West, trans activists and gender clinicians often try to disguise their homophobia. In Iran where homosexuality is punishable by death and trans ideology is officially sanctioned there's no such need. Gender clinics effectively offer to save gays. By mutilating them.
3./ My article reveals this gruesome money-machine is being boosted as Iran aims to make $6Bn a year from medical tourism. A key role will be played by its competing private gender clinics which are among the busiest in the world. Only Thailand does more 'sex change surgery'.
1./ Hezbollah Hypocrisy. It's a scandal a Jewish man was arrested for joking about the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. We should ALL applaud the elimination of this disgusting misogynist and anti-semite. And if you're gay you should especially thank @IDF. Here's why👉
2./ Two years ago Nasrallah called for violence against gays "with no limits". He hated gays so much he urged followers to use slurs rather than the word 'homosexual'. He and Hezbollah's inspiration had long been the rancid bigotry of Ayatollah Khomeini.👇
3./ Hezbollah posters in Beirut often cite the incoherent "thoughts" of this thankfully well dead fruitcake. A major feature of Khomeini's theology was his violent hatred of gays. One of the first laws he passed after he returned to Iran in 1979 was the death sentence for gays.
1./ 🧵The BBC's Transman Shame. In 2004 Sky's reality show There's Something About Miriam encouraged straight men to seduce a trans identified male. 21 years later the BBC has learned nothing as it encourages gay men to seduce a trans identified female. Will it end the same way?👉
2./ Sky was forced to apologise to the men it duped. It also had to pay them £500K for trying to engineer them into having sex with Miriam Rivera a troubled man who believed he was female. The same exploitative arrogance is in evidence today at @bbcthree and @twofourtweets.
3./@bbcthree may have told gay competitors about the trans status of 'Lars' a deluded woman who had her breasts sawn off and took testosterone in a desperate attempt to escape her female reality. But its alleged "honesty" is insufficient because this ignores how reality TV works.
