Brian Steel cross examining one of the state's key witnesses, Quindarius Zachary aka Lil Dee.
"And Jeffery never asked you to do those driveby shootings, did he?"
QZ: "He didn't even know about them"
Steel is juxtaposing the timeline of the Woody and Kel/Nut situation with Thug's career, showing that Thug was blowing up insanely fast, always on tour, signing sponsorships, etc.
2016, the first time QZ got locked up, was the last time QZ ever had ANY contact with Thug.
QZ testifies that Woody was the last person he saw with the infiniti the night of the Nut murder.
He also testifies that Thug "cut ties" with Woody due to all the drama that Woody brought and all the problems surrounding him.
Over state objection, Steel was able to play a section of "The Mobb" by Lil Wayne off his album "Tha Carter II"
The state used a caption that uses lyrics from this song against the people on trial, not realizing it was lyrics from a Wayne song.
Steel finished his cross by eliciting testimony that QZ has never heard Thug ask anyone to commit a crime ever.
No other defense attorney had questions. Love back up for re-direct.
Ms. Love asks if QZ ever told anyone that if he testified, he would get killed because "they were gang members".
QZ says no, but there's no defense objections, so I guess Ms. Love might have a good reason to ask that?
To counter Schardt's points about QZ's story constantly changing, Love brings up parts of the interview where the detectives sometimes get "facts wrong" from QZ's previous stories and QZ corrects them.
To counter the notion that QZ "would say anything to get out of jail", Love asks why QZ still didn't blame anything on Thug, even though he knew that the police wanted Thug?
QZ didn't have a real answer for this. Woody's answer for this was "it wouldn't be believable".
"You'd rather go to prison for 189 years than testify on any of your friends?"
Love about QZ turning down a plea deal to testify against Mounk Tounk. QZ says "yes, after i got older"
Love is pretty much doing a whole new direct. After defense objection, the Judge instructs Love to narrow her questions to cross-examination topics.
She said she only needed 30 more minutes before lunch, let’s see!
QZ excused after pretty inconsequential redirect and recross.
On the stand now is a phone records guy for t-mobile/sprint .
Done for day.
Potential hurricane so they’re closing the courthouse tomorrow, no trial tomorrow. Friday yet to be determined. ✌️

2 defendants left after the other 4 took pleas, Yak Gotti and Shannon.
Rapper Slimelife Shawty is back on the stand.
This is the instructions the Judge gave the Jury to address the fact that 4 co-defendants were no longer n the courtroom.
The state is attempting to recall Det Thorpe to introduce a statement from Shannon in 2015 that they left out the first time. Schardt believes it’s because he said things that were helpful to Thug so now that he's gone, they want it in. Judge says no.
Slimelife Shawty is expected to take the stand today.
Lil Rod’s lawyers had a mistrial motion this morning after the State confirmed that they will not be calling 2 of their witnesses (who they had brought from jail) because they refused to say anything on the stand.
Lil Rod’s lawyers did not object to all the social media and ig dm evidence from these 2 witnesses because they were under the understanding that the State would call them.
Now that the State isn’t calling them, it’s a “confrontation clause” issue since they can’t be crossed on those posts.
Judge denied the mistrial, after the State says they let the defense know they wouldn’t call them early in the day and the lawyers still did not object, so they consider the issue waived.
Yesterday, I didn’t make an update thread because State is pretty much re-hashing Lil Rod’s murder trial and reproving the murder.
Leah Abbasi is currently grilling one of the investigators of the murder, and doing a great job imo. I just don’t want to get into the weeds of this
Continuing with State's 'gang expert', Detective Underwood.
The Judge denied the State's request to reconsider her ruling/sanction which excluded Detective Dennis' testimony and disallowed the State from ever calling him again.
She says its plausible Dennis said what he said as retaliation for his qualifications being questioned 🤯
It appears the Ghost of Glanville continues to haunt this case, because we're at lunch time with 0 testimony.
Still waiting on all the jurors to show up.
There was also a motion the judge/defense was ready to be argued but apparently no one except Ms. Love can argue it.
