The Rules.

The Rules, that the House body (all parties) votes on at the beginning of session, guides how bills are heard in committee, on the floor, amendments, length of time to speak, and more…

🧵2/ The rules have been weaponized to centralize power to a few in what should be The People’s House.

The vote for Patterson was a vote to support the same system of bad rules and a vote for Sparks was to decentralize the power of one person (the Speaker).

🧵3/ Sparks was going to change the rules to give the voice back to the people by giving their reps more opportunity to get their bills heard without having to cowtow to the establishment Speaker and the system.

A cautionary tale of SchoolChoice™️.

Sweden. Incrementalism.

The 1992 “Conservatives” led Sweden put in Universal School Choice Vouchers. Then 18 years later, they banned homeschooling and started to prosecute parents.

Homeschoolers started to flee to other countries.

A national curriculum was imposed in 2011.
